Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have just returned from having a private tour of the National Stud, which I bought as a Father’s Day present for my dad.
Right from the start, Emma who booked it all for me was so personable and accommodating, was a pleasure to deal with.
What a fabulous tour! Sandie our guide was lovely, knowledgable and clearly passionate about her role and the horses! The ladies in the cafe were lovely too and it’s obvious that everyone loves working there! We will definitely be back in the Spring to see all the foals. Loved it!

We did the Tattersalls tour which included the gallops, stable visit, fabulous brunch at National Horse Racing Museum and the sales. It was just perfect . So interesting and our guide Larry was just amazing, knowledgeable, funny and so helpful. Will definitely do a further tour with them.

A lovely day. Collected in a minibus by a cheery driver and toured several sites. Watched the horses on the gallops, many of the yards were pointed out to us, then an interesting tour of the beautiful Godolphin stud. Saw several stallions and it was interesting to hear how they are looked after. Back to our starting point then for a very nice glass of Prosecco and two course lunch at the hotel. I’ll be looking for another your next year - would highly recommend!

Informative and thrilling tour of the National Stud, meeting Stradivarius and other important stallions standing there. Nigel, our guide, was amusing yet interesting and an acquaintance of mine commented that his was the best tour she'd been on, out of at least 3 tours there. When I told Nigel I had a tiny share in one of the in-foal mares being boarded there he made a special detour to her paddock for me to meet her. I'd love to upload a photo of Strad but I don't have his owner's permission. Taking photos is allowed but they may not be uploaded to social media or the web.

I was given the chance to go on the Frankel tour as a gift.
It was an amazing day that I will never forget. It began outside Newmarket Racecourse, a mini bus collected us , drove around Newmarket, went on a stable tour at Marco Botti’s yard. The staff there were lovely and friendly. We had a beautiful lunch at the Bedford Spa hotel. After that off to Banstead Manor to see Frankel. It was amazing . He was the last of four stallions. The feeling you get is best described as emotional! He has an aura around him. He sauntered out and stood in front of us, I couldn’t speak, so calm. Larry was our guide and is fantastic. Lady Jane was with us which made the day really special. We can’t thank people enough for that amazing day. It was Wednesday 17th August 2023.

My wife and I went on the Full Day Frankel Tour Aug 2023.
From start to finish this tour did not disappoint. Seeing Frankel was a dream come true. The day started at the Rowley Mile racecourse where we were met by our tour guide Larry. We waited and were then introduced to Lady Cecil and her sister Sally who accompanied us on the tour. Next was a tour of the Rowley Mile Racecourse before a trip to the Newmarket gallops. Then it was onto a tour, of Marco Botti's training yard. Connor at the yard was very informative and knowledgeable about each horse and its racing pedigree. It was then onto Bedford Lodge for an excellent lunch.. We were fortunate to be on a table with the tour guide Larry who was a mind of information and engaging with many stories of his life in racing. We could have listened to him for hours, After lunch lady Cecil went out her way to check everyone was enjoying the tour and had a brief chat .Then it was onto Banstead to see the amazing Frankel before a visit to the covering rooms.
Larry our guide for the day was excellent, gave lots of information. He was friendly with a great sense of humour. Lady Cecil and her sister Sally were so personable and specifically made sure that my wife was looked after being as she has a walking disability. There was always a chair at hand so that my wife could enjoy the tour, At the end of the tour Lady Cecil, Sally and Larry personally thanked each person on the tour. It was a dream come true and the tour was just like Frankel. "Sheer Class".

Absolutely fantastic experience. Larry was our guide and was friendly and informative. The weather was terrible but it didn’t spoil our time. Loved everything about it. The tea/coffee and cakes were very welcome half way through the morning. Getting up close to these wonderful beasts was fantastic

The Full Day Frankel Tour is a brilliant day out. Every part of the day exceeded expectations building up to the highlight which was meeting Frankel. We also got to meet Oasis Dream, Bated Breath and Kingman. What a treat. All at Banstead Manor were welcoming and informative. Lunch was delicious and our hosts for the day, Larry and Lady Jane, were excellent too.
