Drove to Sutton Hoo while on holiday in Suffolk. Great parking. Great Visitors centre. Nice display and a very good and informative video. But did we actually miss something on the walk? There were school groups on the 'Hoo' which was distracting. And historical it...More

It was closed and apparently had been for some months. I can only hope that whatever they are doing to it will prove to have been worth the closure as and when it re-opens.

Interesting and you need to pay for the tour if you want to get the most out of the visit.Too much repetition in the exhibits, just to pad it out a bit.

Loved the place. The exhibition is set up really well and the guides in the exhibition are fantastic, so much knowledge and imparted really well. Would have liked some more interpretive finds around the mounds not just on the viewing platform.

We were advised to visit Sutton Hoo and thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would have liked to have spent more time walking around the area. The mounds are very distinctive. Enjoyed the museum exhibits as well. Staff were very friendly.

You need to do the guided tour and that lasts about an hour although it did run over because it was so interesting. You can then look at the exhibits and there is normally someone there to talking through some pieces. We... More

Hi , the estate walk may allow a dog on alead but not to the burial grounds or the buildings. Previous posts have mentioned that.
