We were driving on the way to another national trust and we saw this little place so we thought about popping in. The staff were welcoming and gave us a map. It was unfortunate the house and garden were not open as they had tennant's...More

We were firtunate to visit Hatchlands during the week of the year the rooms are lit by candlelight. The great atmosphere combined with the enthusiasm and knowledge of the volunteers was second to none. Unfortunately for me, I was suffering with an itchy camera trigger...More

As part of the National Trust, took the grandkids for a day out. Its a lovely area to wander around with a super kiddies play area. The cafe is well stocked and also caters for 'healthy' kiddy needs. My only criticism was the lack of...More

Although it was not sunny it was a nice day. The trees are getting their Autumn colours and look beautiful. There is a nice coffee shop with simple food and cakes.

The house is a family house so it feels welcoming as it is still lived in. Worth a visit. The gardens are not large but the park is and the children have lots to do running about. There is a tree house and the bluebell...More

An interesting house, but difficult to appreciate the plasterwork and fireplaces as absolutely crammed with stuff, would be better if the musical instruments were in one place maybe.

Went with friends yesterday and did not view the house but walked the grounds and gardens. This is very disappointing! The grounds are extensive and very beautiful but the formal flowerbeds simply dreadful. They were rampant with weeds and nettles and needed sorting out. What...More

So glad you enjoyed your visit to Hatchlands and thanks for your review. We apologise about the weeds in the formal gardens – the perfect coupling of rain and warm soil resulted in an explosion of growth, particularly in the weed community. We have a...More

Loses one star right away for no indoor photography ... apparently "Because the family still live here !" , tell you what people , if you want privacy why not "Don't" give your house to the National Trust then carry on living in it !...More

I saw the two donkey's, they are ever so sweet. Well worth seeing. They are in the field before the shop and cafe.
