About
Founded in 2000 Wylam is a 30 Barrel Micro Brewery that resides at the Palace of Arts in Exhibition Park. Our Tap Room opens at the following times and it is always free entry and operates independently of events in The Grand Hall: Thursdays: 5pm to 11pm Fridays: 5pm to 11pm Saturday: Midday to 11pm Sundays: Midday to 11pm Our new home at the Palace of Art in Exhibition Park is the last remaining building from the 1929 North East Exhibition. The Exhibition was an ambitious project built to celebrate and encourage Craft, Art and Industry at the start of the Great Depression. Having remained almost derelict for nearly a decade the building has now sprung back to life as a fully operational working Brewery. Alongside the Brewery there is a Brewery Tap, which is open to the public Thursdays to Sundays inclusive. The Grand Hall plays host to Live Music, Weddings, Pop Up Events and more …

Sunday roast dinner
Jun 2021 • Friends
Good venue, spacious and light. They ran out of a couple of the beers which is hard to believe when it’s a brewery! The Sunday lunch portion was good but the food was cold so the roast potatoes were hard. It was ok but I have had much better Sunday roasts in pubs. It’s dog friendly though so that was a big plus for the families who don’t like to leave their dogs at home

Great brewery!!
Jun 2021 • Couples
The brewery is in an excellent location next to the pond in the Palace of Arts Exhibition Park. The beer garden was excellent and you ordered drinks via the app which was great as no waiting for someone to serve you! Staff were really efficient and very nice. There is also a really great indoor space as well. Despite it being out the way, it's well worth the effort to get there. Highly recommended!!!!

Weekend beers
May 2021 • Couples
Visited here on a sunny Saturday. We were directed to a table on the terrace and downloaded the W8R app to order beers. Nice range of lovely beers, great chilled atmosphere in a beautiful setting. Very COVID safe.

Great comeback even better than before
May 2021 • Couples
The British weather has been hit & miss but Wylam has been a godsend since reopening.
Made the most of their space, excellent food via street vender style catering and what found the best of all, the speed and quality of service has been fantastic, so good I’ve been a frequent visitor.

Wylam Wedding
Jan 2021
I really couldn't recommend Wylam brewery enough! We have been planning a lockdown wedding, and Alex, our wedding co-ordinator could not be more helpful. She has been extremely flexible, and very proactive. We are extremely pleased with the service so far, and very excited for the day itself now!

Sunday morning coffee
Sep 2020 • Solo
Have been for nights in the past with fantastic music and great beer and spirits. This morning was calm and relaxing, a still mild morning. Coffee outside in the fresh air at well spaced tables, good service, spotless toilets. Just the gentle chit chat of others also enjoying the surroundings. The strange, challenging and constantly evolving circumstances have been so well managed here.

My favourite since lockdown
Sep 2020 • Solo
Great coffee, incredible cakes, brilliant outdoor seating to feel safe and distanced among people in the lovely park setting. I just wish they didn't use disposable cups - remember to take your reusable as there's no option for glasses or mugs. Brilliant place though.

Wy Wouldn’t you!
Sep 2020 • Friends
Wylam Brewery is amazing! From the stunning building and surroundings to the tasty beer and food. What’s not to like.

We went for Sunday lunch as a couple meeting friends with children. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the Sunday lunch was lovely. The Yorkshire puddings are huge. Topped off lunch with one of the best porters out there - the macchiato.

The seating inside is great and there is also a lovely beer garden with toilets and a burger van.

If you are a beer lover and want to order anything to take away - they were really accommodating with us and let us order there and then whilst they boxed it up. The only problem is that it’s so easy to spend a lot of money on their amazing beers 🍻.

I’d 100% recommend Wylam brewery ❤️

Unwelcoming
Jul 2020 • Family
Visited you several times before. Visited this Sunday for lunch as a family. Really inhospitable and unwelcoming experience. We won’t be coming back. I think you need to remember that you need your customers more than they need you- particularly at the moment.
