We use the civic theatre quite a bit and it is usually excellent - cafe, drink, service and entertainment and would usually thoroughly recommend. However, today we visited at 9.15am for breakfast, after walking for some considerable time in the rain with our children. The doors were locked, while we stood in the rain (for some time) we finally managed to get the attention of a member of staff, only to be told that they wouldn’t be opening until 10am due to a gig the night before. I think it is really important that independent venues stick to their hours and support customers at all times in the day.

Visited for a bluegrass gig (bought the tickets online). We took an uber and paid £6 from city centre. Friendly staff and well run event. Bar was very reasonably priced and accepted card and Apple Pay. Clean facilities. Enjoyable gig!

This was the first time I had visited the theatre and I was pleasantly surprised. I took my 2 granddaughters aged 5 and 3 to see a Christmas presentation especially aimed at young kids. We all enjoyed it very much so well done the cast of Jack Frost. In addition we were greatly impressed by the theatre, the small cafe and being wheelchair dependent, the ease of entry etc.

Shout out to this little place, providing free gaming for kids friends to get together in a safe and welcoming environment. Your kids are happy and parents can enjoy a lovely latte or a beer! It’s a great social space to enjoy. Living locally this regular event is much appreciated.

Silver sage held a fund raising event .The silver angels raise money for hardship support and new instruments .
Our own band “Black and Blue “ did two sets we had raffles bottle games food and fun .
The space happily and comfortably accommodated our event . The building was accessible and comfortable .
The buffet food was really lovely, with lots of fresh and healthy options .
The staff were great . I had a great conversation with Joseph Harrop , the venue manager , and was very impressed by the ethos and work ethic of the organisation and building
Reading the what’s posters detail lots of cinematic and arts events .
It is a really great place . Well done to all the staff and thank you for a great evening .

Lovely coffee shop providing artisan blend and light meals. Clearly very popular with wide group of customers. Local workers popping in as well as family and friendship groups. Friendly welcome despite how busy they were catering for a large group.
