Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Came to watch the racing with a group of friends. Great venue, with a cracking pub on the outside. We had a great evening, very easy to put bets on, quick service at the bar and the food was also great. Great viewing of the parade circle and the finish line. A few winners on the day but hopefully more next time.
We will certainly be back for another day of racing.

A surprise for my birthday we had a hospitality box. The box was warm with an outdoor area to view the winning post. The food was very good - fish/ sausage and chips and accompaniments. Our host Rachel looked after us very well. Even organised a birthday dessert and couldn’t do enough for us. We were looked after by Lorraine for the placing of bets and didn’t need to leave our box unless we wanted to. A great night out.

A basic and small racecourse. The beer was awful I must say but apart from that very good. Easy to get to and park.

I’m actually stunned how night & day Newcastle Races is compared to Chester. Everything Chester Races gets wrong, Newcastle just seems to get so right with complete ease. The idea of races is fun, plain & simple which both venues do but Chester seems to just not care about the aftermath. Newcastle on the other hand keeps an eye on the punters and makes sure everyone behaves with a friendly down to earth approach, no shouting, no barking at people like peasants, just a friendly “wound you mind” if they see people do something they’re not keen on and the best part is, the people apologise and be civil about it with no bruised ego. I saw a few times people getting a tap on the shoulder & it mentioned they shouldn’t drink anymore and you know what happened each time? Nothing. The people agreed and switched to soft drinks or water.
Chester would instantly have issues where they approach situations poorly and end up coming against people with very jacked up levels of pride they somehow feel obliged to defend and before you know it by the end of the day you’ve got absolutely smashed people looking for a fight and taking it out on anyone they can.
Well done Newcastle, you’ve shown that a day at the races can be fun, civilised and welcoming to all instead of an overpriced stag do which is what Chester seems to organise with every fixture.

Very poor again at Newcastle Racecourse, absolute rip off, prices for entry, food & drink absolutely ridiculous, shambolic stewarding and queues for almost everything, 2nd visit, won’t be back.

been coming to Newcastle races for years and never had such terrible service the whole day was ruined by poor service no management and just a general lack of organisation
drinks orders took ages and were wrong more than once
food was missing at each course and the staff tried their best but obviously were way out of their depth
we asked for port with the cheese and biscuits and were served brandy !!! when we asked why they said we dont have port !! we asked for these drinks to be removed from the bill and the waiter agreed but when we got the bill they were still on there !!
gin and tonic with no gin and rhubarb tonic was also served to us
if there was a manager running the event then these problems could have been prevented
Newcastle races seem to just be doing everything on the cheap these days and we certainly wont be back

Your winter wonderland is a disgrace and god people with out transport having to walk at least a mile to the event in the dark with no lighting at all is shocking and very frightening for young children I was appalled from start to finish. Was charged £5 entry for what a few rides and food stalls no santas grotto there was nothing there to resemble Xmas shocking

Tried again this year as the Racing League came to the course. We entered the course and went to collect the free drinks with our package. We had to leave the course and go back to an office to collect the voucher - why could this not have been explained in any of the many emails they sent? We were not alone in having to do this. If you stand near the finishing line you cannot hear the commentary and the problem with no lighting on the way back to the main road highlighted last year is still there.

On Friday night it was a bit long but everybody was in good spirits.
