Great local museum, home of The Turbinia, a Challenger 2 tank and currently Stephenson’s Rocket. Great for kids of all ages with a number of interactive activities, a cafe and decent sized gift shop. An educational way to pass a few hours.

Took my son here when he was young, now at 11 yrs old, still asked to visit it when were up in Newcastle on vacation. New exhibits this time, really interesting. It's free to enter, but I always do a donation. Worth the visit.
