At the Tyneside Cinema, we give a trip to the pictures the sense of occasion it deserves. We show the best films in stylish and beautiful surroundings, and our varied programme ranges from brilliant films from all over the world to the best Hollywood has to offer. As the last surviving Newsreel theatre still operating as a cinema full-time in the UK, our Grade II-listed building is an important, must-see piece of heritage, not just regionally, but nationally too and it has been lovingly restored to preserve and celebrate the grandeur of its original 1937 art deco design.

As a saturday at 5pm there was a queue for tickets naturally, and the girl behind the counter told us we would be able buy at the bar or cafe, excellent and will remember this for next time. The lads who served us our ticket at the bar were wonderful, he asked us if we had any cards (maybe we're... More

Been here a few times now for screenings that are autism friendly fortnightly on Sundays at 10:30am, the staff are always happy to help and very pleasant ,I would recommend going here if you have a family member with Autism also subtitled for the deaf , relaxed performance lighting is low and volume isn't as loud as usual cinema viewings... Always a good choice ! We had the butter beer and cauldron cake , these were delicious . The film was good , not amazing . The seats comfortable and roomy . It was cold , I wrapped up in my scarf but could have done with a blanket !!!!

I regularly visit the Tyneside cinema and love it. It is great for so many occasions, for example I have been to gigs here, stopped for a quick coffee with friends when in town, had my dinner in the coffee rooms before a film and went to a midnight showing of the latest Star Wars film. When the new Bridget... More

Comfiest seats, best films, nicest staff, tastiest grub... Just bear in mind you've got to be better than everyone else to fully enjoy the experience. Don't worry though, as soon as you go, you are. Go on, look down on all those plebs with the cold nachos and BO in the Odeon! You're at Tyneside Cinema now!

Often pop in here to catch a movie or just enjoy a coffee. Nice place , nice staff and you get a good choice of world cinema and classic movies from years gone by. It would be a great miss to the city of it ever closed.

Love the sofa style seating in the cinema. It's just like being on your sofa at home. The staff are warm and friendly and the whole place has a friendly atmosphere. The drinks and snacks are reasonably priced. All in all I'll be visiting again

I visited here recently to see a film, what a lovely building right in the centre of Newcastle, it was immaculately clean even tho one film just finished and another started shortly afterwards, will definitely be back.
