We enjoyed a good wander around this astonishing building before lunch, and were captivated by the ornate architecture, sympathetic decor and beautiful stained glass windows. I'd recommend everyone takes a look in the various areas before settling, as each has its own distinct ambience. Eventually we opted to dine upstairs in the light and airy bar area, where we had... Another great 'Spoons in another fabulous building (like 'em or not, 'Spoons help preserve some excellent historic buildings with, in every case I've seen, empathetic conversions that make great pubs whilst preserving some of the original character of the building). Beer was great, food was ok and great value, which is what 'Spoons always deliver.

great wetherspoons, very large and has lots of different areas. it was quite busy but we didnt wait to be served. it is very central and its opposite newcastle railway station so a lot of people use it as a first stop when they arrive. didnt eat but lots of people were.

Good breakfast ordered with no egg or beans ended up with black pudding which was bit naughty of the staff but made me happy. He was put right soon after by his superior. Good cheap food would recommend in clean relax environment bit dark in places.

Large building with small rooms all over the place. Not too busy and able to get served quickly. Normal bar fare but good and reasonable prices. Just across the road from the station so gets lots of travelers with cases.

Wetherspoons pub, a little of the beaten track so quite quiet when we visited. Large building split into different rooms with additional seating upstairs. We chose the deli deal - cheese and ham pannini with chips and a pint of Thatchers - at £5.25 each you really can't go wrong. Food arrived after a reasonable wait and was delicious. Plenty... More

Four of us went for a meal on a short break to newcastle. The main bar was very noisy. But we found a table in a nice quiet side room all our meals were served fairly quickly, and all were good. For the price we paid it was very good value. The building is a ex gentleman's club and is... More
