Fun Evening spent with the kids
Jul 2021 • Family
We went here on a Tuesday night as something different to do with the kids whilst visiting Newcastle. Easy to get to - we used an Uber which cost £9 from the Quayside.
Due to Covid our tickets had to include a meal option which was pie, mash and gravy for us adults and chicken or fish and chips for the kids.
Staff were all really friendly - manager took the time to go round and chat to everyone and give them his "tips" and Hayley our waitress (as its table service only) was so so nice!! As was the girl going round taking bets.
All in all a really nice chilled evening doing something a bit different with the kids. The excitement of cheering on their dog and of course winning. Would defo recommend 👌

A night out
Dec 2019 • Family
Great atmosphere, view of track is very good. Child friendly.
Very disappointed at the quality of the drink I was served, 1st pint of Warsteiner was promptly poured away by bar staff as it was totally flat, the next one took ages to get any sign of life in it, flat, soapy tasting, not a good experience. When I looked around it appeared that all draught lagers looked flat.
No reply to my message to the race course.
Next time, it will be bottled beer.

Pretty dire

First time here and never again. Virtually empty stadium so no atmosphere at all. Slow turn over of races. I give this place 2/5 for the beer and pie!

Stag Package
Jun 2019 • Friends
Newcastle Greyhound Stadium offer a stag package which is great fun. Myself and 15 or so others attended on the first weekend in June and really enjoyed the experience.

The cost of the event is relatively reasonable for what you receive. The package includes admission to the stadium, your race card, three drinks and a meal. The choice of food is vast, but don't be expecting a three course dinner, it is more like burger and chips. I went for the fish fingers and chips which was great and did the job.

The stag is allowed to name a race, but keep it clean. The stag then presents the winning dog and owner with the trophy and a bottle of champagne. A photograph is then taken of the stag party with the dog and you are able to enjoy the rest of your evening.

The stadium isn't far from the city, and it's fairly cheap in a taxi to get to and from. The people in attendance are your regulars but with a lot of stag parties too.

Great fun though and highly recommended!

Fun night
May 2019
First time visit never been to a greyhound track before. We were a party of 7 didn’t have any idea of what to do but everyone was so helpful and friendly. Once we understood how things worked it was really fun having a little flutter. Will definitely have to pay another visit.

Great Stag Night
Aug 2018 • Friends
Arranged a small stag group of eight men visiting Newcastle. So cheap expectation were not high. What a surprise. £17.50 each got us admission, a race card each. burger and chips each, three beers each, a race named after the stag, presentation of trophy to winning dog, a bottle of bubbly to spray everywhere, and a presentation group photo sent after the event. Unbelievable value and a great night out.

Thoroughly enjoyed. But won’t be everyone’s cup of tea
Jul 2018 • Friends
I really enjoyed my afternoon here. Once I sussed out how they bet and how things worked I really loved it! Staff were friendly and up for a laugh and there was a good atmosphere. We got to sponsor and race and present to the winning dog which was a nice touch.
It is an old establishment so don’t expect the ritz. What you see is what you get. But it was a good bit of fun. Only drawback was it was very quiet while we were there, which was possibly due to ladies da taking place the same day in Newcastle.

Great night out
Jul 2018 • Family
Travelled down from Scotland as a treat for my dads birthday. We had a meal in the restaurant which included entry, a racecard and a welcome drink. Great view of the track from our seats and didn't have to move to place a bet as staff come round with machines. All the staff we met were very friendly, polite and helpful. Well worth a visit if in the Newcastle area
