    A REAL NEWCASTLE PUB.
This is a real pub. You must go, if you want to experience the real Newcastle. Excellent beer, friendly staff, welcoming and warm atmosphere, good food. We went there on a cooooold Friday afternoon and had a great time. We stayed longer than planned and loved the place.

    Newcastle thru and thru…..
I have written reviews on this pub a few times but I have never been able to describe the lovely welcome, the ambience, the fantastic beer and the feeling that once you have a table you just want to stay there! What can I say. I absolutely love the feeling of having a drink in the Strawberry and you will never know this feeling unless you have supported Newcastle United since your grandad took you there. However, any NEW fans are totally welcome to get this feeling and soak up the traditions…..

    Burns Breakfast
The Strawberry hosted a “Burns Breakfast”. A business/social function variation on the traditional Burns Supper usually held at this time of year. There was over 50 present. We were served a traditional breakfast garnished with haggis, of course. The food was excellent, especially considering how difficult it is to produce big multiples of an English breakfast all at once. The pub’s audio/video facilities fully supported the formal elements of the occasion and the staff very efficiently and almost unobtrusively kept everyone’s glasses etc fully charged. The feedback from the guests was universally positive, sometimes waxing lyrically. A good day was had by all. Thanks Strawberry.

    A real Pub
A real Pub serounded by glass buildings with no soul. Really good staff and the food was good for the price . Please move away from all those fast food joints and find this place for a good pint and grub.

    Fab-u-lous.
We hadn't been in this pub for many, many years, but as we were walking past we decided to pop in. What a lovely surprise from the last time we were there. We were welcomed by a friendly, happy lady behind the bar and had a canny chat. Looking around the bar and all the pictures of years gone by, brought back happy memories of the 1970s/1980s. The regulars were very friendly (typical of Geordies) and we talked about the Newcastle United players of the past, our personal favourites and the present players. We ended up there for about 3 hours, a canny few beers and ended up up ordering food from their menu. The food was very reasonably priced and exceptional quality for a town centre pub. We'll definitely be back in the not to distant future and can recommend this pub for a visit, you can't go wrong.

The Strawberry was highly recommended to us, and didn’t fail. We visited on a Wednesday afternoon, lovely friendly staff, reasonably priced drinks and great decor. If visiting Newcastle you have to go for a drink (or a few ) 🍻
