A very exclusive venue. The 'National' centre does nothing to make books inclusive. My foreign visitors were horrified at the fact families had to pay. Being educationalists they found the exclusive attitude of this venue unthinkable!

Visited here yesterday with a lively 6 year old the staff were amazing, calm, kind and all seemed to really understand how to engage with all the children, from the greeting on the door, staff in café and coffee-shop, shop, and the story teller and those we met while charging up and down the stairs. Loads to do-in the three... More

Every single member of staff seem happy, enthused and to be enjoying themselves, the place has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Story times and the shows just keep getting better and better. Theres something magical about them, being in the attic, on the big... More

Excellent day out, entertained a 2 1/2 year old all day, story time was lovely and the guy who read the stories was very entertaining! the attic is wonderful. Food in the cafe is basic but nice, the only negative I would have is the adult ticket price but other than that amazing creative space for children would definitely recommend... More

We went with our 1 year old, he had an amazing time. It was quiet as the sun was out so we had most of the place to ourselves. It is really well curated. The craft centre was really well thought out. And the little loved playing on level 4 with the trains and the open space. The Micheal Morpurgo... More

This place is vastly overrated and when there is a family it's extremely expensive. We went as 2 adults and 2 children of 8 and 5 but the children quickly got bored especially the 8 year old, it seems better suited to younger children who enjoy having stories read to them

Went here on the free heritage day, which was about the only saving grace. We were met by a very enthusiastic man at the front desk, but things went down hill from there. The exhibitions were neither here nor there, very little to maintain the interest of my 8 year old daughter. We wandered around them all in about 45... More

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We take feedback very seriously and use it to inform and implement change where we can. As an example of this, during our refurbishment last year we prioritised issues that our visitors had highlighted; making changes to toilets, packed-lunch space and access. We're really sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy... More
