This is a very small farm. Do not expect to spend an afternoon here! It is free!, cafe and shop selling stuff also available.

We went to 7 stories so stopped on the way back up the hill, if your looking for a large farm or something on the scale of a zoo you will be sorely disappointed!

It compromises of a very small garden with veg patch and some other plants, and then a VERY small animal section, they had a 2 goats, 2 sheep, 1 pig, 1 cow and a handful of Guinea pigs/rabbits/chickens and ducks in the outside area, you can feed the sheep and they were quite happy to eat out of a flat palm, so 6 year old loves that. Inside you will find a few bearded dragons, chinchillas, terrapins, I think and some birds. You can buy animal feed inside but we were on strict instructions to only feed the sheep. £1 for a bag of food.

The animals don’t have huge paddocks to frollick in, so I assume they are part of a large farm outside of the city and they are brought over and rotated, would be very unfair in the animals were only ever kept in their. Wasn’t really explained that this was the case, but fairly sure that the animals weren’t here full time aside from rabbits/Guinea pigs and the indoor ones.

We went during school holidays, they didn’t offer petting zoo of the domestic animals, but that would be something that would have been nice for a small donation/charge.

Overall if your walking past, have a walk in. Do not go if your sole purpose is the farm, it’s tiny, you’ll spend maybe 30 mins to an hour max in the place. It’s smaller than most parks.

A great place to visit when in the Ouseburn Valley area. The volunteers are always friendly and helpful, with their community initiatives being a credit to the region. The garden is a lovely and relaxing space with spring being a great time to start seeing more things being planted. There are a range of animals as well, making it an unusual but quaint city centre attraction.

We found this delightful cafe at Ouseburn Farm by accident when we were exploring the area, and were very glad we did. It's part of a lovely children's farm, and there were several parents and children there when we visited, but despite not having any little ones with us we were welcomed in and enjoyed some good coffee and delicious scones with butter and home-made jam. My only regret is that I didn't have room to try one of the amazing-looking chocolate brownies, but hopefully we'll go back to Newcastle another time. The cafe had a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff, and was just what we were looking for.

Just back from a visit to Ouseburn Farm, my granddaughter had a great time at a Rabbit and Guinea pig petting session. Lovely place for the children, animals to look at, nice gardens and pleasant walks in the valley.
Easy parking nearby. Really nice cafe, food very good, reasonably priced. Staff all very helpful and friendly.
A great outing for the family

A little visit down memory lane for my husband who used to visit Byker Farm as a kid. What a little gem of a place. The animals are well looked after, the veggie and flower patches are lovely to see, and the cafe food and service was outstanding! Thank you to Lewis who looked after us! We will return.

What a fantastic day at Ouseburn farm. Goat walking was so much fun and such a different activity to do. We loved it.
The gardens are beautiful and very well kept. The farm is very clean and the animals all look happy.
The cafe staff and volunteers are 5 star and the food is delicious.
Thankyou. We have had such a great day.

We popped in here after the Victoria Tunnel tour as it’s super close.

Mental how there is a little farm in the middle of a city. It’s lovely, very small but has everything you need if you have little ones!

Also a nice walk around the farm.

Thank you 😊

Great small city farm our grand kids loved it.

Varied array of animals and the grand kids loved the bugs they have.

They were equally fascinated by the old walls left over the farms grounds from the old iron works.

My husband and I were on holiday in Newcastle for 10 day's and we visited the farm twice. It is a very friendly little place, you can see the animals and get very close and stroke them (As long as you wash your hands of course) We got there about 9.45am and were just in time after having a stroke to see them go out into the field (which you can visit). There were rabbits, goats, little ponies, pigs and the most adorable little calf. There is a lovely little garden where a lot of the plants are for sale. We had a very nice cup of coffee in there coffee shop which also has snacks. The animals are so very well looked after and all the people so friendly. It is free to go in they just suggest a donation which they really deserve.

My Wife Wendy were on holiday for a few days in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and visited Ouseburn Farm for the first time on 30th May 2014, we do not drive so we caught the Q2 Quaylink bus and alighted at the Lime Street stop, we then took the first left turn along Lime Street and after a short walk we found Ouseburn Farm.
We saw some Sheep and their Lambs, Four Anglo-nubian Goats, Ebony was my favourite!, there were also some Pigs and a selection of Chickens and Ducks. There are well tended vegetable gardens with some surprises in the form of Scarecrows and even two ornamental Giraffes! There is also a small farm shop and an excellent cafe with home made food and drinks, a lift and ramps make it accessable for those less mobile. We had a coffee before heading back down the road towards the Quayside and Gateshead Millennium Bridge.
We enjoyed our first visit so much, that we decided to make a second visit on Thursday 5th June. We were certainly not disappointed as we saw all the animals plus a new addition to the farm in the form of a beautiful black Calf !
All the animals are very well looked after and we saw some of them taken along to the fields to graze nearby.
Ouseburn Farm is a superb place to visit and if we come to Newcastle again, we are sure to make another visit.
