Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This magnificent structure which spans the river Tyne is just one of many bridges for you to marvel at, built by architect Robert Stephenson started to construct in 1847 opened in 1849 this road and railway bridge is well worth a visited either going over it on public transport on a train or as I did walking through one of the walkways, be careful of the nesting birds that’s all I will say hehe.

This bridge again give views of the city which will not disappoint you as I did see my array of snaps below.

So in summary the High Level Bridge, was on my High Level to go and visit.

One of the seven bridges over the Tyne this caters for vehicles and pedestrians on the lower level and trains on the upper level. Lovely views of the other bridges. Wide pavements and barriers so you can lean against them to pass others if you suffer from a fear of heights as I do. By the 5th crossing I was managing fine

This is just 1 of many bridges over the River Tyne, along Newcastle Quayside. All very different in design and build, this is not particularly impressive or interesting.

We walked past (under) all of the bridges as we hiked coast to coast over the summer. The views along the river with the many bridges are very photogenic. Just avoid the bird poop when passing under the bridges!

This is a pretty cool piece of engineering. I understand why its called the high level bridge because looking up at it from the quayside is quite daunting but it's impressive. I wouldn't say its my favourite of Newcastle's bridges as it seems a bit grubby and neglected and needs little TLC but still its a great structure.

We visited here to see the Stephenson iconic bridge and it is impressive however it has lots of graffiti which needs to be removed. It is a treasure of the city so it should be looked after properly. Newcastle is a lovely place but this needs to be sorted out.

I've always wanted to explore this bridge. Although there was renovation work going on, it surpassed my expectations. Stunning architecture and great photo opportunities. It's lit up at night and well worth a walk to see from the Quayside.
Shame about the Graffiti though.

This has amazing architecture and the views are awesome. But the spraypaint needs to be removed. The views of the bridges are the best on this bridge.

We walked to Gateshead using the High Level Bridge. We appreciate the engineering feat even the date of construction. A real marvel.
