    Great old fashioned station
Great railway station with good facilities for all. A few shops and cafes/coffee bars are evident as well as a first class lounge for travellers who opt for a bit more comfort. Always helpful platform staff are evident with care shown to travellers. All in all , a great station which opens up the city when you arrive and leave from the front to Neville Street.

    Great Train Station.
A great historic train station. I’ve always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. There is a first claw lounge available for those with first class tickets on LNER operated trains which is nice, it has comfortable seats with charging points as well as tea, coffee, water, crisps and biscuits available. There is also pleanty of seating throughout the station. There is several shops located whi thin the station including a Sainsbury’s, Marks and Spencer, WHSmiths, Burger King, Cafe Nero, Boots and several others. There are also two bars, The Centurion and Destination 1850. The train station is easy to navigate and the recognise the Sunflower Lanyard (Hidden Disability Lanyard). There is also access to ‘Central’ Metro station from within the train station.

    Effective People Mover
They have squeezed 12 platforms into a relatively small footprint here, assisted by 8 one way platforms vs only 4 through lines. Easy to navigate with a minimum of stairs. It's a central hub for LNER and a starting station for some Trans Pennine Services.

    Historic Train Station
This station is an excellent hub for exploring the north east of England by train. There are great facilities inside the station and the staff are always on hand to help you. Plenty of seating while you wait for your train. The shops are excellent from WH Smiths, Burger King, Boots, M&S and others.

Beautiful station, but the staff are unfriendly, unhelpful and unpleasant,. On two separate trips, my friend and I were guided to the wrong platform and when we asked about any info, they were clueless. Well done for making the Newcastle station the worst station in the UK. We will drive there from now on.

This is my second review of these toilets, I presume the last one fell on deaf ears. I took my Grandson into these toilets, they stank beyond belief, the floor was covered in Urine, he was bursting so I used a cubicle foe him, so dirty I used my foot to lift a seat so he could use them. LNER should be ashamed.

Newcastle Central is a grand, magnificent Victorian train station, befitting one of the early major centres of rail industry and development. It is attractive and modern updates largely leave intact the historic character. It is easy to use with a long ramp and upper walkway going over the platforms. It is clean and his some nice amenities and shops. It is also conveniently located in the heart of Newcastle. We spent a day here, taking the train from Durham in the morning and leaving in the evening, with the train ride lasting less than 15 minutes.
