The tour was excellent. Although not professing to be Shakespeare's aficionados, we imbibed the various scenes of his life as relayed by Margot. She was an excellent host with a considered, controlled and flawless delivery, punctuated with loads of information extending into Tudor life as a whole; so much information, in fact, that I personally was brain-dead towards the end, but that is altogether another problem….. And she made it all sound so fresh. Thank you, Margot.

We were really looking forward to doing this walking tour on the evening of 2-Dec-23 of which there were 20 participants. Unfortunately we found the whole experience extremely underwhelming. The host spent most of the time with his back to us and spoke softly so we couldn’t hear what he was saying, to the point where we decided to leave halfway through.

Booked last minute, on the morning. Weather was cold and wet, but we absolutely loved the tour and the time flew by. Our guide was really knowledgeable, engaging and funny. Definitely recommending to my friends and would be happy to do it again next time! Stratford is beautiful!

Knowledgable walk leader (Jan) who gave us lots of information about the history of Stratford upon Avon and William Shakespeare's life. She told this in an interesting and enjoyable way.

Four of us would like to take our walking tour either September 17th or 18th. What other tour times are available or is the 11:00 am tour time the only one available? Is there any free parking ? If no free parking what other parking is available? Thank you for your assistance with my inquiry.

There is only one walking tour Monday to Friday and it starts at 11am. Duration around 2hrs and at the pace of the group.
There isn’t any free parking nearby but there are plenty of car parks and a park and ride.
Have a look at Stratford Town Walk’s website for all info about the walk, timings, meeting place, cost etc. There is also a link to car parks, and a list of the discounts available with your Town Walk ticket. The discounts may help you plan your visit.
There will be about 5 or 7 of us coming to Stratford on Friday 13 do we need to pre book the town walk.

Sorry for the delay in answering your question.
No need to pre-book unless 10+ but thanks for letting us know. As we monitor numbers it’s useful to know if small groups will be attending so that we can ensure there is a second guide available if needed.
We look forward to welcoming you all on 13th. Arrive a little before the start time and look out for a guide wearing something yellow.
We are planning to do the 2 pm tour. Will we have time to do the Shakespeare’s home and his other family home tours afterward before they close?
Thanks.

We have a 2pm tour on Saturdays and Sundays only and it takes around 2hrs, depending on how quickly people walk, but you can leave at any time.
Depending on when you are visiting, check the closing times of the Shakespeare Houses. For example if it is 5pm, you can enter just before and they allow you time to visit. Ideally each house takes 45 mins to an hour although you can probably spend less time if needed.
You would certainly have time to visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace and probably one other, but 3 (town houses) would be a bit tight.
If on the day the guided walk goes to the Birthplace first and Church towards the end of the walk, you could leave the walk after the Church, missing a small amount only and gaining a little extra time for the house visits.
If you join our walk you can obtain a 30% discount when you buy the Birthplace ticket, or the ticket to see all 5 houses (good value if visiting more than 1 house). Both tickets are valid for one year with unlimited entry.
If you are in town over two days, no problem. You would have ample time to visit the houses in town and those out of town too.
Give us a call if we can help further. We look forward to seeing you on one of our walks.
Regards

We are a group of women from Wales arriving Stratford 12.30pm, Saturday 5th May. If a few of us would like to join your walking tour can we phone before we arrive?
tom793
Stratford-upon-Avon, UK79 contributions
You will be most welcome to join our walking tour and the 2pm one will fit your timings best. You will have time for refreshment before the tour starts.
No need to book, unless a group of 10+ Just turn up by the swan fountain on Waterside, near the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and opposite Sheep Street. Look out for the guide wearing something yellow.
By all means call us on the mobile if we can help with anything or directions, and look at Stratford Town Walk's website for more info about the walking tour, meeting place, cost, discounts etc.
We look forward to seeing you all on the day.
