About
Magical Attraction and Emporium based in Stratford upon Avon. Everything from magic spells and antique prints, to incense, candles, puzzles, quirky books, board games and curious gifts. There are fairies and fairy houses, unicorns and dragons; vintage toys and games; and books that you never knew you wanted. And then there’s the ‘obje de strange’ selection! You can browse the packed shelves of a dedicated magical and mystical section. As well as a ‘supreme’ collection of magic spell kits and spell books, we also have crystals, incense, smudge stick, books on many magical subjects, crystal balls and Halloween all year round! Naturally, the rest of Magic Alley is generously stocked with Doctor Who, Sherlock Holmes, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter and a classic toy shop You can also visit our Enchanted Manor - complete the quest and encounter the magical folk within. We also have a very magical Christmas experience.

Inflexible staff let children down at Christmas

We went to this last year and the personalisation of the Santa visit was amazing! Especially for my 7 year old who is doubting if Santa is real or not. It was so good that we booked again!

This year however we missed the deadline (of the 31st October(!!!)- we are not visiting until late December ) as the email went to my junk and by the time that I saw it it was too late. I have emailed and rang them to ask if we could have it extended or to post it in but there is just no flexibility. They are boarder-line rude and unkind. They say for admin purposes that they cannot move the deadline but surely it is just a list they give Santa before each visit. I feel like this is just mean and will make the visit less magical for my children.

I am sad to say that this will be the last year that we visit- we will be looking for somewhere with more flexible and kinder staff for next year. How rubbish, feel very disappointed.

Please contact the management as your tickets have been revoked - we need to ensure you receive a full refund. To respond to your review the deadline for personalisation was on the website which you had to scroll past to book the tickets. It was on the booking form itself with a link and a reminder of the deadline. Our Head of Events emailed everyone individually and she also posts 8 social media reminders. This is very unfair to write this review when you had amble opportunity to enter the information so as a result the management have decided that it is better that you do not come to us this year given you are blaming us for something that is essentially not our fault. It was made very clear that the deadline was a firm deadline.

My family and I (kids aged 12 and 10) visited today and had a great time solving the puzzles. Lots of thought has gone into the “murder mystery” and the rooms are really well laid out with lots of spooky props. We’d all highly recommend this place as somewhere to spend some quality family time when visiting Stratford!

The Witching Hour had a fantastic atmosphere and great puzzles to challenge the mind. All staff are really friendly and the live actors are amazing! All made for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend. Have been before and will most definitely be returning.

Great value brain workout

This place is an absolute gem. Last minute booking for myself and 2 thirteen year old girls after reading all of the positive reviews on Facebook. Think the venue may host different seasonal events..we were at The Curse of Jewel Island. Easily an hour and quarter of mind stimulating challenges..adults included🙂Particularly loved the secret messages found with the UV light pen. Very pleasant staff and the perfect end of school holidays brain work out. Looking forward to their next event already!

attended the curse of jewel Island was a fun activity with two 10 year olds.. reasonably priced and the pirate lady was absolutely brilliant and helpful with the clues very funny to ..Will definitely be back for Halloween 🎃

Curse of Jewel Island

Curse of Jewel Island. Puzzle Quest for the kids was excellent, some of the clues and riddles got you thinking for sure. Altogether took us just over an hour to complete and then there is a ‘beach’ sandpit at the end for the kids to play in.

There are some interest items in the shop also, including Ouija Boards!

Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area with young kids

For puzzler kids

This was fantastic. I have 8 year old and 5 year old girls. There were puzzles to solve for both at the same time in different areas. It was like an escape room for kids. If your children like puzzles then this is fantastic, we had a fab time. The customer service was fabulous too, we paid full price and the company emailed to say they were dropping price for a sale and refunded us the difference, they didn't have to do that and we certainly would have paid full price. If they change theme we would definitely come back and try the new one too.

Exceeded expectations

With a 12 and 14 year old who aren't easily impressed, I was doubtful about booking this experience. I'm glad I did. It gave us over an hour of fun together and we were all able to participate despite our very varied levels of intellect. The man who met us and collected us at the end was excellent; welcoming, friendly and informative. It was impressively creatively put together and we will definitely return for Halloween!

Refreshingly different, something to be included in any visit to Stratford Upon Avon

Visited today for the Curse of Jewel Island, what a fantastically different activity. Perfect for that always tween age where they are feeling a bit too grown up for some of the usual summer activities but aren’t quite ready to ditch thier grown up. The puzzles offered a variety of challenges again great for an age where escape rooms might be a little frustrating but they are wanting an activity like thag and the photo opportunities was fun. This was refreshingly different and I will be looking out for future events here.
