It has everything

Beautiful canal and surrounding parks. The bridges are all different. It has locks, birds, large green meadows. Roofs of historic buildings can be seen behind the treeline.

What a picturesque place to be. A little hustle and bustle in a nice way. Ice cream here, a lolly there, ducks passing and a river cruise too. We loved it and it's all so close to the centre too.

This is a lovely place for an afternoon walk before dinner. We enjoyed a group of swans with cygnets nesting on the bank near the Premier inn.

Lovely and relaxing ride along the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal. Large houses along the waterfront with gorgeous gardens, ducks swimming, a beautiful old bridge, a church and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre are to name but a few of the sites along the way. Very enjoyable and memorable

The river cruise is a joke, the boat takes 10 mins to go through a loch and then only goes 500yds up the river and comes back to the loch. Unfortunately there was about 50 chinese visitors on board all talking and taking photos of the loch, so we couldn't hear the commentary!

an amazing hour long trip in a boat along the river capturing the sights and sounds of the city, from the riverside houses ( some absolutely outsanding buildings by the way) to the bird and duck sanctuary you can see on the waterways). You can forget you're in a city and just sit back and enjoy the scenery. It was... More

We took the audio canal tour. The boat travelled lazily along the canal, and we learnt some facts we had not known before that were very interesting. A lovely outing on a beautiful day.

What a beautiful and serene place. Ducks, swans, barges, houseboats, and so pretty. Could have stood there all day and watch the world go by

Nearly anywhere along its length the Stratford Canal offers tranquil scenic countryside with some interesting history thrown in. It can be walked in nice 4 mile-ish segments usually between pubs.

One of the first things you do when visiting Stratford is stroll around the canals and the gardens that surround them which is very near to the town centre so very central. Their are some wonderful Shakespeare Statues in the gardens from his plays. Its a lovely walk and a great place to a stroll or walk your dog. Some... More
