Attempted a long distance cycle along canal towpath. The towpath from the centre of Stratford to Wilmcote is excellent, wide and for the most part with a good surface. After Wilmcote it becomes more difficult with large sections of mud, despite not particularly heavy rain recently. Fine for walking but not cycling.

I regularly take my kids cycling along the towpath. it is pretty well maintained and very enjoyable, providing it's not raining! Walking along the towpath can take you into the centre of town, or alternatively away from the hustle and bustle. All in all it is great as it is free, full of wildlife and great for exploring.

The walk starts at the Navigation Inn but the bus actually stops in the village about 500 yards further on. It was a good half days walk with several interesting features including the longest aquaduct in England. There is information on the internet, including photos. There are some longish lengths of 'featureless' canal but there should be wildlife and boat... More

If you have children, remember to pack some bread, they will be thrilled to feed the sea gulls and swan and ducklings there.

Beautiful canal and surrounding parks. The bridges are all different. It has locks, birds, large green meadows. Roofs of historic buildings can be seen behind the treeline.

What a picturesque place to be. A little hustle and bustle in a nice way. Ice cream here, a lolly there, ducks passing and a river cruise too. We loved it and it's all so close to the centre too.

This is a lovely place for an afternoon walk before dinner. We enjoyed a group of swans with cygnets nesting on the bank near the Premier inn.

Lovely and relaxing ride along the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal. Large houses along the waterfront with gorgeous gardens, ducks swimming, a beautiful old bridge, a church and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre are to name but a few of the sites along the way. Very enjoyable and memorable

The river cruise is a joke, the boat takes 10 mins to go through a loch and then only goes 500yds up the river and comes back to the loch. Unfortunately there was about 50 chinese visitors on board all talking and taking photos of the loch, so we couldn't hear the commentary!
