This wasn't our first visit, the first time a couple of years ago, we had a great time so much to see and look at crammed into a small place but like a treasure trove. It was because of this we arranged to take a group of friends there, telling them how good it was. It has been "modernised" still... More

Despite the website saying that it was open it was (as mentioned in previous reviews) closed. We did think that a place is as good as its external displays and these were not well presented. They looked neglected. The two guns at the front were in need of TLC - a repaint and the tyres pumped up would have helped. And... More

It says on the sign open 365 days of the year so not sure why it was closed when we went. Very unfortunate as looked like it would have been good from what we could see outside.

Utter waste of time have made two attempts to visit this site checking there web site each time before I left, saying it is open ,only to find on arrival both times a closed sign on the door.

I really enjoyed my visit and was almost overwhelmed by the shear volume of exhibits. The one downside for me was the lack of labelling/information on many of the items but I believe this is being addressed. It is set in beautiful countryside and definitely worth the entrance fee - nice cafe too

I completely agree with everything paul t has siad, I only wish id read his review before going. The best bit was the small dressing up area as you first go in apart from that we found it quite boring. Lots of stuff not enough information and needs to ve more interactive for children. Definitely more of a grown up... More

Ok this is an honest review of our experience today. Friends of ours recommended we should go we took our children ( 5 and 8 years old). This in my opinion is not really a family day out. There are lots of items with not a great deal of explanation. It looks more like a stock room when you to... More

I visited this museum a few years ago and it sported a superb collection of quality antique arms and armour. Unfortunately, I can only assume most of these have been sold off. What remains is a hotchpotch of items of varying quality. Still worth a visit but the owners need to decide what their focus is.
