These are beautiful gardens on the bank of the river Avon.
The gardens are picturesque and provide a serene place for an afternoon stroll or a picnic.

Great place to have a lovely stroll alongside the river with plently of benches to sit on. Swans and ducks etc in abundance, not to mention the lovely trees.

It’s always nice when I’m down in Stratford to have a walk in The Avon Bank Gardens.
Sitting directly on the edge of the river, this walk not only is relaxing but also interesting,as there
is so much to see, and also such a lot of wildlife to spot.
Definitely recommended.

Forget Shakespeare, come listen to the Band.
After lunch on Sunday we walked down towards the river/canal and could hear music and so walked towards the bandstand where the Birmingham Brass Band were playing. We sat down for over half an hour, maybe an hour, along with other couples, families, singles, all enjoying the band playing a range of music from hits by Queen (Bohem Rhaps) through to "bobbing along" from Bedknobs and Broomsticks!
No rowdiness or drunks, a magic way to spend a warm part sunny sunday afternoon.
So relaxing.

This is a lovely area to relax in when visiting Stratford Upon Avon. There is a lovely walk beside the river and places to sit. It can get very busy in the town so it is nice to have a 'green' space to escape to.

A walk from Holy Trinity Church (Shakespeare's resting place) along the river to The Shakespeare Theatre. Well worth the visit after walking around the churchyard

These gardens are less busy! Lovely for a quiet meander or family picnic or a sitting time to read. The river Avon is alway a joy.

Stratford on Avon always delights and this stretch of the river and gardens is beautiful.
We visited during the Stratford River Festival and it was nice to see so many happy people on a sunny day.
We also got an overhead view from the new Stratford Big Wheel

We came to Avonbank Gardens on Stratford's recent River Festival Day to watch a fabulous outdoor amateur production of Shakespeare's 'All's Well that Ends Well.' This was English summer as it should be - sitting on the grass, in the shade of a huge tree, being royally entertained by first class actors. Shame we didn't bring a bottle of champagne!

Is there public parking at Holy Trinity Church...or perhaps on the street? It's difficult to tell on Google Maps. I'd like to see the church, Shakespeare's grave and walk along the river, but our hotel is in the center of town. I'd like to park nearby so that we can leave afterwards.
