- Sharon A8 contributionsVery well run and organised fun time for chikdremThe play village is lovely and our granddaughters love coming here, the details is amazing and the staff friendly and helpful. More recently they have added more gluten free choices to their menu and have made the menu much clearer. Highly recommend a visit here.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 15 February 2024
- Debbie W77 contributionsGreat experienceTook my 20 month old Grandson here. A warm welcome upon arrival. The play area is amazing. It’s clean , nothing worn out and the attention to detail is spot on. It felt safe and so well planed out. My Grandson loved it ! The staff are great and very friendly. It was sad that the kitchen was closed when we went but I’m sure it couldn’t be helped. The only little negative was that the characters were miked up and it was way too loud. My grandson really didn’t like it and was a bit scared by the loud voices. This won’t stop us from revisiting. Try it out . Well done to all involved.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 February 2024
- Nickey P1 contributionBest Venue for Children's Birthday PartiesThis is the third year I have booked The Children's Play Village for my daughter's birthday and it never fails to impress! The venue is absolutely amazing, the party set up is always magical and all of the staff are attentive, going above and beyond to make family and guests feel so welcome. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to book a birthday party, it truly is in a league of its own!Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 20 March 2024
- michael nNavan, Ireland15 contributionsFor a very warm experience. What a lovely venue this is. Took our granddaughter to the village. From the moment we walked through the door we were welcomed into the warmest of environments. The venue was very clean and comfortable. The play area was of the highest quality, attended by a large number of very friendly, well trained staff. The food and drinks on offer were very reasonably priced. The owner was a very warm natured, caring and committed gentleman, who obviously cares very much for his business and his clients. It was a very enjoyable experience for us all.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 26 May 2024

- Emilyamanda6 contributionsMagical Christmas experienceIncredible Christmas experience! We went with children ages 7, 4 and 1 years old. All of them had the most magical day seeing Santa, Aurora the princess and a grumpy elf! The experience had a story, games, magical tricks and a super interactive time with Santa, who was just brilliant. Children also enjoyed playing in the stunning play village too, which is always a fab place to visit. Santa was kind and sensitive with more nervous children too! Lots of opportunities for family photos with the scenery and Santa too. So much more than your average Santa visit. Everyone left with huge smiles. The village food was really great and the team were great with allergies too - we had communication beforehand and they were very supportive of our needs. Thank you for a fab fab day. Magical!Visited December 2024Travelled with familyWritten 15 December 2024
- VanessaC34 contributionsA wonderful Santa experienceThis is our 3rd year visiting Santa here and it just does not disappoint! The characters are playful, the acting is brilliant and Aurora’s voice is amazing. A really great way for children to visit with Santa in a less intense way than the usual meet and greet - they can warm up to the he idea of meeting him and approach in their own time. The village is always immaculate with lovely toys and many opportunities for imaginative play. We visit throughout the year as love locally and always have a fab time. The food and coffee at the cafe are always spot on, the staff are super friendly and we always leave full and happy. If you are thinking of visiting, get it booked in, as you won’t be disappointed.Visited December 2024Travelled with familyWritten 21 December 2024

We visited for the second time in February. The first time had been on our daughter’s third birthday last summer and we had chosen to come whilst our eldest child was at school as we thought he would be too old to enjoy himself. We realised during that visit that he wasn’t, so we finally made a return visit today with an 8 year old, 3 year old and 18 month old. They all had a fantastic time!
We received such a warm welcome from the members of staff at the front desk, and were very kindly shown to a table in the cafe area. Our children then joined in with the welcome session and started playing! We all had a brilliant afternoon playing together. We love how clean and tidy the village is even though we arrived at 3.30pm, that numbers are limited, how much there is to do, and that we can spend so much time together in one place just playing without any other distractions. We could spend much longer than 2.5 hours here, it is such a nice environment. Also a big plus that a tidy-up song is played at the end and that the children are asked to help, and they all do!
We will definitely be back again.

Incredible place. A children’s sized village with a school, Firestation, Hairdresses, vets and more. It has a small area in the middle for babies. I am lucky it is local and the regular price is reasonable but do book in advance. The last time we went was at Christmas which was magical but just as standard the attention to detail is wow it is great for all ages and you often see adults having just as much fun being creative with their little ones.
The cafe area is all open so you can sit and have a coffee and still watch over the play area. It’s extremely safe and children can’t go anywhere outside the “village”
The food is also tasty and fresh with plenty of choice including cute little picnic baskets for children.
Drive slow down the lanes.

I booked for me and my (just) 4 year old son to go to the 1230 session as we were going to be in the area that day. I’d read a few reviews and they are spot on; really clean cafe, play village and toilets, tidy toys (at the start of the session anyway!) and smiley staff. Everything gets properly cleaned, refilled and put back between each session - which just pushes all the right buttons for me. Our group filled the cafe area as we waited to start and I thought ‘oh gosh, it’ll be too busy’ but it truly wasn’t. Plenty of space and choice and lots to do that you wouldn’t have at home. A well run and thought-out business, deserves all the stars. We will definitely be going again. Thank you!

I have visited the play village on a number of occasions with my daughter. Even at 8 years old she still enjoys visiting.
The staff are wonderful especially how they interact with the children throughout the session. Previously I have always booked onto the morning session and have never experienced any problems however today we visited at the lunchtime session and I was extremely disappointed.
The street food inspired menu appears to be too fancy for a children’s play area and is overpriced. I myself couldn’t find anything I would eat and had to order a children’s picnic box. There is no option for a simple sandwich.
We ordered our food at 1.07pm and at the time I was told it would be a 20-30 minute wait which was fine. After asking staff on two occasions our food finally arrived at 2.02pm exactly 55 minutes after ordering, one of the meals came with a drink so we had to wait for that drink to come with the food. My daughter ordered a little chicken box which supposedly contained chicken goujons however I find the meal description very misleading. On arrival the goujons were shaped nothing like a goujon and looked burnt, please see photo, we queried with the staff who assured us it was just the coating (which it was as I tried some) however because they didn’t look like your typical chicken goujon my daughter was very reluctant to eat them.
The kitchen is clearly not capable of keeping up with lunchtime orders, maybe the food should be downgraded so it isn’t so fancy or numbers of visitors reduced to allow the kitchen to cope. I have never had an issue with food wait times when visiting previously.
I have always on previous visits thought the play village to be very clean however today I noticed a member of staff cleaning tables with a bottle of spray and blue paper towel, she took the paper towel from table to table without changing it. I also thought there was a no shoe policy within the village play area but I saw several adults in there with shoes on and my daughters socks were black on the bottom when we left. The toilet facilities were immaculate as always.
Although staff are welcoming and interact well with the children I am reluctant to visit again as we have to travel just over an hour each way to visit. The majority of the time there today my daughter spent coming back to the table asking when food would arrive as she was very hungry, therefore she didn’t enjoy her visit and I am really disappointed following today’s visit.

Got recommended by a friend. So thought it’s worth a go. Travelled over an hour from Telford to visit with tbh mixed feeling about how good it will be. How wrong was I. Good parking, walked in to a very pleasant lady asked if we have been before, then explain the old covid stuff and table service. You get allocated a table so no mucking about trying to find one. We ordered food, had the steak ciabatta and my wife had the bacon and Brie burger. Kids had sausage it was very tasty not the standard greasy spoon style food some places had. Now the best part the play area my kids loved it I mean loved it. The attention to detail is fantastic. They just have so much fun went with a 20 month year old who was in her element and a 8 month old who had plenty to satisfy her. One thing I’d like to commend is the staff levels on today seemed really good people in the play area interacting with the kids dressed up and staff at hand, doesn’t feel like any corners have been cut. Now what any parent can understand, my toddler didn’t want to leave and five minutes down the road both kids asleep 😂 honestly value for money we will certainly be back even with the drive

Really enjoy our visits to the play village, it’s really well thought out and kept in good condition. The kids have so much fun with role play, one minute they’re a vet, the next, a fireman, then a beautician! At Christmas there’s a lovely Santa’s sleigh too. The sessions are just long enough that you’ve got round everything but the kids haven’t got restless yet!
There’s 2 reasons I didn’t give 5 stars- number one is at the beginning they do a welcome song etc, I know this enjoyed by a lot of visitors but whenever we’ve gone they just want to get stuck in and impatiently have to sit through it 😂
Secondly is the menu looks really good but we’ve never been able to sample it as you can’t see the children from the restaurant which is a real shame (know they can’t get anywhere but you still want to keep an eye on the little ones at all times!)

Hello there!
Thank you for taking the time to share your review and your thoughts from your visits to us. It is wonderful to hear that your little ones enjoyed playing and exploring! Christmas is one of our most favourite times of time year here at the village so we are so happy to hear you enjoyed it too. It is always fantastic to see the children getting involved and really taking on the occupations of the workers in the units and we love to be able to facilitate their magical experience with costumes and props. We always appreciate any feedback and ensure we try to use feedback to make any necessary improvements.
I am sorry to hear that you and your children did not enjoy our welcome. It would never be our intention to halt the children from playing and exploring. We start the session with a welcome so that the children can become familiar with our staff within the play village and feel safe and comfortable in approaching them. It is also the perfect time to introduce our theme for our ‘drama’ of the month. This way all children receive the same information should they wish to participate within the drama’s and activities throughout the session. Having said this, we completely appreciate that children are keen to get stuck in as quickly as possible. If, in future your little one(s) would rather not to sit down and participate in the welcome, you are more than welcome to take them into a unit to begin exploring whilst the welcome is still ongoing.
I am sorry to hear that you have not had the chance to sample any food from our delicious bistro menu yet. Whilst you are welcome to eat in the bistro whilst your little ones explore, we appreciate that some parents would prefer to be in the village with their little ones at all times. Hopefully in the future when you visit us, if your children are hungry you will be able to enjoy a family meal together.
Once again, thankyou for taking the time out to leave your review. Please do contact us if you have any further comments or questions.
We look forward to hopefully be welcoming you again very soon!
Molly - The Play Village Team.

It's hard to summarise why this place is so fantastic but I'm try...
1) the people!! They go out of their way to make sure you are looked after and the children enjoy their visit. Every single person I interacted with was amazing at what they do.
2) feeling safe - numbers are limited, toys are being cleaned throughout the session, hand gel available to use , no shoes in the village.
3) great quality toys and set-up - everything has been really well thought out and I enjoyed playing there as much as the children
4) the food and coffee! Gorgeous & great quality. Served very quickly too.
5) easy for single parent families. I was there on my own with a 2 and 4 year old. The children can't 'escape' and it's easy to keep an eye on them. In addition, there are people around to help when needed and they make it seem like it's no bother.
I will definitely be returning.
Thanks for a great visit Play Village!!

The children's play village is a really well set up environment for young children to just role play. You have to book your 2.5 hour session, so it's never overcrowded, and two facilitators help lead the sessions. My two girls loved playing there. The area is small so you can keep track of the children (they can't escape anyway). The cafe is clean and the food is good. It's well worth a visit.

We were so excited when this reopened after lockdown and have to say, it is one place that we always know won’t let us down. We went for our sons 5th birthday and the staff were great in making it special even under these strange circumstances. We were allowed to bring in a gift which they hid in the post office for him to find, we were able to bring in a cake and let him blow out the candles, and before he left, he was given a happy birthday announcement and a card. We went and met his friend and their family and were able to have tables next to one another with the social distancing. The adults kept the masks on for play, but were able to remove when seated at the table. Only slight disappointment was their usually so delicious home made cakes were no longer part of the menu.

Whilst the play village is lovely, clean and the children loved it!!! I have to say the food was of a very poor quality. A sausage sandwich £5.25 was tasteless, undercooked and so overpriced. We ordered two childrens picnic box's.... the cheese sandwitch...the bread was dry and the margarine or butter spead tasted unpleasant. The two small brownies were stale, the only good thing in the picnic was the fruit and crisps. At £4.50 each for the picnic box's, it was extremely disappointing and overpriced.

I suspect my children will not want to stop play for a bite to eat. Is there anywhere nearby that I can take them after the session? We’re not local to the area.
Thank you
