About
Hi I run Get Cooking! and provide cooking experiences for all ages from my home in Warwick and surrounding areas. I provide bespoke private cooking and baking lessons, demonstrations, and parties. I aim to inspire you in the kitchen through my easy teaching approach while having fun. I work with many people who lack confidence in the kitchen as well as couples and friends looking for a fun activity in Warwickshire. I have over 35 years of experience in the hospitality and catering business. Typical food I help guests create includes Indian, Chinese, Thai, Moroccan, Greek, French, Italian, and Japanese cuisine along with classic English fayre from Sunday roast, scones, and apple pie. Learning how to make your own afternoon tea, pasta, healthy fakeaway's, and Sushi are popular requests. I love baking and can teach a wide variety of traditional baked goods from breads, scones, jams, croissants, different types of cakes, pastry, tarts, and meringue. Look forward to hearing from you.

We had no idea what to expect from a 'zoom cooking class', but Anne Marie's class exceeded any ideas we did have. Me and my partner had a really good time learning new skills, a new recipe and "meeting" new people. It was surprisingly easy to follow along and Anne Marie was great at giving little tips that I've already started using in other recipes. To top it off, of course, we ended the lesson with a delicious home cooked dhal and naan bread, which I have already promised to cook for family when I can. It was a real experience and although it was a group class, we had individual support and she was also flexible with helping us add different flavours to our naans, which was great. We both had a great afternoon/evening and both agreed it was really good value for money too, especially considering it was something we would not normally be able to do. Would definitely do another class - thank you!

We really enjoyed cooking along with Anne-Marie on Zoom this evening. My daughter and I both learned something. Anne-Marie is an excellent teacher using this challenging Zoom technology. The visuals were great, and she has a really relaxed and natural delivery style. Everyone in the class seemed to work very well together, and to be very pleased with their final results. Whilst my daughter and I do cook together, it made a nice change to be following someone else rather than thinking ahead myself, and this new recipe was definitely a winner.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. I'm so pleased you both enjoyed it. Live Zoom cooking is very different to face to face but great fun. I try to ensure everyone feels included and produces good food by the end of a session.

Excellent afternoon at Anne-Marie’s home baking and then eating afternoon tea.. special birthday present for my friend with whom we regularly do afternoon tea, the lesson was relaxed, friendly and informative and the results amazing! Suitable for both experienced and new bakers, we really enjoyed the session. Anne-Marie was lovely and relaxed, putting us at ease but keeping an eye on our efforts whilst chatting and sharing tips. The cakes were made were mouth watering! Highly recommended!

I have just done a session with Anne Marie.
It was great fun.
Very easy to follow and very flexible with lots of additional ideas given for the desert we were making and how to adapt it and change it according to ingredients and tastes.
Would highly recommend having an online session with Anne Marie any time. it made for a very enjoyable evening cooking with friends online. Lovely thing to do in lockdown times - maybe a way of reconnecting with friends and family while producing a delicious meal.

I bought a voucher for my friend for her birthday to do a cookery class with Anne Marie. Yesterday we used the voucher and we loved every minute. We chose to cook vegetarian curries with nan breads and chapatis. Anne Marie was fantastic explaining everything giving us plenty of ideas and showing us great techniques especially how to chop an onion properly! Looking forward to cooking the recipes again at home! We are going to book another class in to learn how to make pasta and bake cakes. Thank you so much again Ann Marie for a lovely afternoon, we will be recommending you and is a great idea for birthdays, hen parties etc x

A friend gave me a voucher for a Get Cooking session with Anne Marie. I contacted her and asked if she would do a cake baking session with me. Well what a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours one Thursday morning. I've always struggled with getting basic chocolate and victoria sandwich cakes just right. I visited Anne Marie's home and she led me through the whole process from measuring out ingredients to tips about what sort of butter and flour to use. I learnt so much and feel a lot more confident to tackle the cakes myself now at home. The family has been enjoying the triple layer (!) chocolate cake I baked. Wish I had had the benefit of Anne Marie's expert (and friendly) tuition when I started baking 40 years ago!!

In this time of lockdown, it was great to have an activity that kept the children entertained, gave a chance to connect with other families and produced a delicious result.
Anne-Marie gives warm and practical guidance and has a wealth of food knowledge. We made homemade pizzas this week and cheesecake last week.
Zoom worked well as the virtual platform. We're looking forward to our next virtual cooking lesson!

New venture for me and loved the increase of interaction between users over the last two weeks. It has been nice to connect with past students and welcome newcomers of all ages.
I'll be adding more cook-along sessions over the coming weeks.

Ann-Marie is so welcoming, friendly, patient and informative. Relaxed class (online due to COVID restrictions) and easy to follow whatever your cooking ability. I made stollen and biscotti biscuits in my pre-Christmas session. Loved it and great tasting results. Thank you!

I booked my daughters 11th Birthday with Anne Marie as she loves the cook and bake. What an amazing service! Anne Marie was so lovely and patient with the children. They made afternoon tea in the space of 2 hours and the results were fantastic.

I booked a Sushi making class myself and my granddaughter as a christmas treat. The whole experience was so well organised, Anne Marie is very knowledgable about ingredients, techniques and very good at putting you at ease. We both loved the session and couldn't believe that we came away with 4 different types of perfect Sushi rolls. Thank you Anne Marie for an amazing afternoon.
