About
Imagine a totally electrifying day out at Britain’s ultimate castle. Where you can immerse yourself in a thousand years of jaw-dropping history – come rain or shine.Where ancient myths and spell-binding tales set your imagination alight, and your hair on end. Where princesses are pampered and maidens are wooed, as winners become true heroes and losers are confined to dark, dank dungeons to be forgotten for eternity. It could only be Warwick Castle.

    More than just a castle
The castle and rooms were excellent as well as the archery display. We also went into the dungeons and were entertained and frightened accordingly. although we went as a couple i am sure that this is an ideal place for families. out side the more formal and historic side of the castle there is a large playground centred on the character ZOG. and also a great Horrible History Maze with the ability to interact by Stamping a booklet as you go around. My wife and i are both in our sixties and both enjoyed the hunt to get every stamp. We also noticed that they have log cabins that you can stay overnight in if you wish to make your visit an long weekend adventure. all over it was a great day out and very reasonably priced.
Hi mrZedWoottonBassett, thank you so much for your 5* Review, we really appreciate this feedback, great to hear you had a great day out and can’t wait to welcome you back to the Castle soon

    Great family day out
Great day out spent the whole day here with the family. Loads of activities and history here. Loved the knight shows and jousting. Little one loved the interactive experience with the birds of prey, they get real close when allowing them to fly through the crowd. Definitely would advise going here with the family and getting here early to really experience the whole space.
Hi nrks2021, thanks for you feedback and for 4-star rating and your feedback regarding the great day you had and enjoying the knights show, jousting and the birds of prey. we look forward to seeing you again

    A wonderful experience.
Warwick Castle is a wonderful experience for all age groups. There is so much to see and do. From the three towers climb (not suitable for people with mobility issues), to the wonderful dungeons with the Tussauds figures, to the birds of prey show, to the castle interior which is mind blowing, there is just so much to see and do.
Hello stevecoates55, Thank you for taking the time to leave this wonderful feedback regarding your recent visit! We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed everything we have to offer here at Warwick Castle! We agree our Great Hall and Staterooms are Mind blowing. We hope to see you again soon!

    Medieval Mayhem!
Spent a great Saturday here in March, it was slightly out of season so the trebuchet and archery attractions were not on, but still plenty to do in the impressive grounds of the castle. It is a tad pricy so bring your own food but there’s also plenty to do without spending more than the admission fee - scaling the walls, zogs playground for the little kids, birds of prey shows and a couple of cast members wandering around in knight / princess costumes for some photo opportunities. Has a Westworld vibe about the place, just needed a few maniacal robots and Yul Brynner and you’d have an awesome experience!
Hi Daugtanion, Thank you for the feedback! Our pricing reflects the cost of upkeep and maintenance of the Castle, the grounds and the gardens. But we're glad that you enjoyed all the entertainment and attractions on site. We hope to see you again soon!

A fun day out for all the family
Went on good Friday, booking system was easy and had emailed tickets. Arrived and parked in the big field. A bit of a walk around to the entrance but no hassle. Once in we did the dungeon then had breakfast (it was a long drive there). Then started to do the rest of the castle and the timed events (falconry display / Trebuchet demo). I was surprised we spend the whole day there (10am - 5pm)/ Take a picnic blanket and enjoy the shows or the open spaces. The rooms are excellent and kitted out for the 1920's and the parties they had there. My daughter loved the princess room and meeting Zog. Had lunch at the orangery, photographed the peacocks. Walked the battlements and watched the time video (very good). An excellent day out !
Hi tripploso, Thank you for visiting and reviewing us 5 stars! Its lovely to hear that your daughter had an excellent time meeting the Princesses & Zog. We're glad that you had a easy booking process and enjoyed all the shows and attractions that the Castle has to offer! We hope to see you very soon!

    Mega birds and dungeon tour
The bird show was out of this world the handlers and their magnificent birds were shown spectacularly in a beautiful setting by the river, we loved the ginormous condor, wow. The experience in the dungeon was well paying the extra for fun and terrifying. Thank you
Hi Rita, Thankyou for taking your time to give us a review and visiting. Its much appreciated. Its wonderful to hear that you loved the bird show and the dungeon experience, we will let the team know ! Thank you, Warwick Castle

    Superb Day Out....but!
Firstly we would like to say that we had a fantastic day out. Its very well organised, loads to see and do and the Falconry Display was jaw dropping. The Castle is stunning and steeped in History, seriously, we had great day. I would have given it 5 stars but sadly there is a sting in the tail mind as the price is quite high. To Warwick Castle, I would say be careful that this doesn't become a common statement from visitors. £32 per person from age 4 upwards is very high AND extra for parking (£6). I would say to drop the price slightly or at least scrap the parking fee. Its such a great day out but there is a risk here of it being spoilt by 'spending a fortune' as once you are in, you still end up paying more (Archery £6 for firing 6 arrows). Also , be careful it doesn't become too 'Tacky', (Coke vending machines, expensive plastic tat in the gift shop, coin press machines.....really?). Once again, it was a brilliant day out but please Warwick Castle, becareful you don't ruin something that's amazing simply on the high cost.
Hi janeaX3460NI, Thank you so much for visiting! We really appreciate the feedback. We're glad to hear you had a great time exploring everything the Castle has to offer and immersing yourself in our history. We work hard to combine our rich and vibrant history with entertainment to create a fun and engaging atmosphere for people of all ages, and only charge extra for attractions that may not appeal to all guests to ensure the best entrance fee. Our pricing reflects the cost of upkeep and maintenance of the Castle, the grounds and the gardens. We hope to see you again very soon!

    Superb day out.
Surprised by the size. There is so much to do and see. All round the grounds of the castle are different side events. Access to the buildings and the views were brilliant. The Birds of Prey and Knights jousting were not to miss attractions. Being unable to walk long distances was hampering and immobility meant some parts of the castle were inaccessible. Plenty of places available to buy food and drink. Would thoroughly recommend, children will love it. It takes a whole day so get there early.
Hi Ipohboymartin, Thank you so much for visiting, we're glad you had a great time exploring the Castle and enjoyed the beautiful views. It's great to hear how much you enjoyed the Birds of Prey show and our Food and Beverage units. We try our best to make the Castle grounds as accessible as possible, so we really appreciate your feedback and will take this on board, for further information/queries regarding accessibility please visit: https://www.warwick-castle.com/plan-your-day/resort-information/accessibility/ We hope to see you again soon!

A "real" castle, built as a fortification, yet used as the home of the Duke of Warwick.
Warwick castle is a "real" castle, built as a fortification. Yet, it was used as the home of the Duke of Warwick. It has rooms of fine furniture, portraits, armor and shows the grand life style of the inhabitant. But, you can climb to the original moot/bailey and appreciate its defensive position. This is a well maintained structure that is well worth the visit.
Good morning. Many thanks for leaving a five star review regarding your visit to Warwick Castle. We're pleased you found the time to visit the original mound and also the Royal Weekend Party, State Rooms, The Great Hall and the Kingmaker exhibition. We very much hope to welcome you back to Warwick Castle again in the future!

    Must visit if with children
A must see site especially if you have children. There is so much to see, War of the Roses, archery, birds of prey, etc. And, the castle tour itself is super. Avoid climbing the long walls and towers if you have issues with closed in places.

OMG this was so amazing, huge and so well presented. The models in period costumes were so life like, you expected them to turn and speak to you. Loved how the rooms were presented. Especially loved Henry VIII and his 6 wives display. It was easy to walk around and take in the full grandeur of the site. Cost was reasonable.

I’m sorry but what a rip off! You have to pay £6 to park and then even though it was 3pm and the castle closed at 4pm, the tickets were £39 each!!! Needless to say we declined!

Thankyou for your comments MrsCop66. We appreciate and understand that pricing can be an issue for some of our guests, however that is the on the day price. Our prebook pricing starts from £22 but that needs to be purchased at least 24hours in advance. Our parking is a price of a £6 charge on the Stratford Road and that is a flat rate no matter the time spent in our carpark. The charges of the parking go towards the conversation work that is done for the castle. We are sad to hear you declined the choice to enter the Castle, but hope this does not stop you from choosing to visit us in the Future.

It's a lovely beautiful preserved castle .... but it is stupidly expensive .... £39 on the door, but a "mere" £22 if booked in advance.
There's not that much to see as only part of one wing is accessible, and I really don't know why we have to have adventure playgroundswfor the kids
Yes I do ... it's run by Merlin Entertainments ... more focused on revenue than Heritage
And you have to pay £6 to park as well

Hi rexbarker, thank you for your review, we are sorry to read that you did not feel that you received good value for money. Here at Warwick Castle, our main goal is to be able to share our rich and extensive 1100 years of history with our guests in a way that is fun and enjoyable. We are constantly reviewing our prices to be in line with other attractions of a similar nature and offer a larger discount when booking in advance during our off-peak seasons when we are unable to host our full catalogue of shows and entertainment. While we cannot host certain shows due to the colder season, we still offer numerous attractions and exhibits, including our History tours led by our dedicated History Team, our Great Hall & State Rooms, Kingmaker attraction, Time Tower attraction, and more. Our history is incredibly important to us and is always at the forefront of everything we do, including the attractions aimed at our more younger guests such as our Horrible Histories Maze. Our Zog Playland is an added extra for our most tiny guests to give them the opportunity to burn off some energy in between their parents historical fun. To make sure we are offering the best value for money, we only charge extra for the attractions and services, such as our car park, that is not suitable for all of our guests. We do not include this cost in a day ticket so our guests do not feel that they are paying for something on the door that they then are unable to use. If you would like to discuss your visit further, please do get in touch at guest.feedback@warwick-castle.com

We visited on Friday in February half-term with our 7 year old daughter. The castle itself is very impressive - the best preserved I’ve seen and looks like the sort of castle you see in fairy tales. We enjoyed exploring it inside and out. The Grand Hall is very impressive and has a good selection of armour and weapons on display. The other rooms are well presented - you can see the former Tussaud’s influence from the characters on display. Compared to National Trust properties, it’s also nice and bright, warm and airy. Outside, we did the walk of the ramparts which was great, and there was an amazing view from the highest tower. Be warned though - there’s lots of spiral steps up and down and it’s a one way system. If it’s not for you, you’ll have to go quite a way before you can escape. There’s a good display of crafts etc in the basement when you get to the end. We also did the 30 minute complete abridged history tour with Andrew. This was all in the courtyard and was a lightning run through by a clearly very knowledgeable guide. If I were to criticise, I would say that it could have been a little more tailored to the half-term audience in order to keep our 7 year old and her peers engaged, though she did like the bits about poo!

Whilst they don’t operate the amazing trebuchet in the winter, the archery competition with several rounds of different types of archery exceeded my expectations and was very entertaining for all. It was more of a show - better than the professional competition I was expecting. The compère in particular was great, but you could tell they all got on well. We also made it to one of the Birds of Prey shows - this was good and well explained by the compère. The barn owl was beautiful, but Simon the falcon was the star of the show with his fondness for terrorising the local pigeons.

In terms of the negatives the commercial side of the place is certainly a big one. I bought discounted advance tickets through my union at £18 - less than half of what we would have had to pay on the gate and thought this represented reasonable value. However, kids need to pay the adult rate from the age of 2! That’s a new low for me, and will certainly add up for large families. I was also surprised to have to pay quite a lot for parking on top of that. We got there at 10:30 and there were a few places left in the Stables car park, right by the entrance for a flat rate of £10. The main car park is cheaper at £6 flat rate and quite a walk. The two Warwick Council car parks nearby present better value and are pay as you go, with a maximum charge of £8. That isn’t the end of it though. Want to visit the Dungeon? That’s another £8 each. How about having a go at Archery? £6 each please.

We bought a packed lunch with us, and were disappointed that there weren’t many benches and didn’t appear to be anywhere undercover where we could eat it. We were glad we bought it though, as the queue to the main restaurant was out of the door when we looked both at the beginning and end of lunchtime. Our bag was searched on the way in with security staff looking for utensils, so make sure you bring something you can eat with your hands. In the afternoon, we wanted to go somewhere inside to have a hot drink and warm up, but there wasn’t really anywhere - the Conservatory will happily sell you an afternoon tea for £30, but we could only sit inside to drink the hot drinks we bought there with the kind permission of the manager.

In short, the castle is impressive and the staff are great, but there’s little to do (other than get a free return ticket) if the weather is bad. Merlin’s commercial influence and the amount for things you have to pay for on top of the not insignificant entry fee will prevent us from rushing back.

Castle bit smaller than expected but was good fun. App didn’t include food ordering as suggested?.

Undercroft cafe: Very poor service by one rude staff member. Queue for an hour, no sign to say what you’re queuing for so many people were confused, no menu in advanced so you have to suddenly decide at the till and then rudely told they don’t have what you want and no possible way they could put a sign out saying sold out?, How many people want to queue for an hour to turn up to a rude childish woman.

Archery guys were fun and interactive.

Thankyou for taking the time to write a review on your experience at Warwick Castle. We are sorry to hear there was poor service and lack of communication down in our Undercroft restaurant. We visited this after being told by relatives who saw it maybe 26 or so years ago that it was one of their favorite castles in England. Maybe a lot has changed?? I couldn’t believe how much tickets were for our family of five (£190) and was ready to walk away upon discovering that, but my husband said, “Let’s just do it.” Regrets regrets regrets. We spent as long as we could there, but we watched the winter bird of prey show (three birds, lots of talking, nothing else) but were definitely ready to go after three hours. All the activities and food had long lines, and the “horrible histories” maze was just ridiculous. There’d be one interesting fact, but nothing exciting or challenging about it. The castle was more interesting, but still nowhere near justified the cost. If we had paid 1/5 of the price, I might be able to scrounge up higher praise. As it stands, I’m deeply annoyed that we spent as much time and money here as we did.

We went as a family, 4 adults, 3 children yesterday, its a lovely castle, birds of prey and archery shows were good, take your own food and drink as prices were extortionate, 5.95 for tray of chips ! Kids loved the zog playground, unfortunately we had tears come 3.30 as everything was shut up and children never got chance to go into the maze and we had no time to go up into the towers, very expensive parking, we had to park a short walk away due to carpark flooding, and this cost £8 for all day, in total we spent around £250 in total and that was with cheaper online entrance tickets , kids same price as adults, we feel like we need to go back to see missed opportunities but its to expensive..shame as its a lovely place really

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I am disabled and booked to go to the castle. Upon arrival! We travelled quite far away, there wa no mention at all that the wheel chair lift was out of order. We were through two ticket check points. When we got to the entrance of the castle we saw the sign. We went back to the ticket desk they said oh we will give you your car park fee back! What about my tickets. They said here's an email contact them. I did. They said oh it just have been on our website that the lift wasn't operational. I said it wasn't. They said ok we will refund you the money. It should hit your bank about 3-5 working days. 6 weeks later it still hasn't. So I emailed to let them know. I was ignored for 2 weeks. Then I got an email. Thank you Michele. FOR WHAT!!! Get your act together Warwick castle. Disabled people have to tactically plan a visit.
