Charlecote Park has been home to the Lucy family since the 12th century. Their stories are told throughout the house by their portraits, the objects they collected from around the world and the design influence they had on the house and parkland. See how Mary Elizabeth Lucy remodeled the house in Victorian times. The gardens include a formal parterre, woodland walk and the wider parkland (inspired by 'Capability' Brown), which offer walks with picturesque views across the River Avon. A herd of fallow deer has been in the park since Tudor times.

Visited on a mild January morning just after it opened and as most NT places are, it was fairly busy. The house is not open but there is a lovely walk which takes you by the river and almost into Hampton Lucy and then back towards the house and the deer and Jacobs sheep. The deer are magnificent, they are... More

So sorry to say how poor and expensive this attraction is. Very little of the house is on show and you can see it all in ten minutes. The gardens however are quite nice and you can usually see the deer. However opposite there are 2 garden centres which are both free of charge and the one closest to the... More

Visited recently when house not open but lovely walk around the grounds followed by a pot of tea and home made cakes! Saw many deer not far from the main house. Friendly and helpful staff as usual.

We spent several hours exploring the grounds and park at Charlecote, watching the deer herds as they slowly wandered around including their jumping of a lower fence, effortless. Kingfishers by the river fishing and herons galore. Hot soup in the Orangery kept us going, well worth a visit even if the house is not open

We often visit charlecote park with my family just to soak up the views across the meadows, beautiful walks all year round! Every season adds a different atmosphere and beauty! The main grounds are and house are fantastic also but once you have seen them the main attraction for us is just a fantastic peaceful place to walk!

We visited on a winter day when the house wasn't open, and were charged £8 to walk around a field. Not great value. I imagine it's lovely in summer, and cannot comment on the house.

We telephoned and prebooked a house tour as the house was not open to normal tours. We found the tour very informative and would return in the summer to enjoy wandering around with our audio headset. We asked at the ticket office about disabled parking and were given clear instructions on how to enter from the main road, through a... More

Well worth a visit - Charlecote Park has a fantastic combination of architecture, countryside paths and rich history for all to enjoy! Definitely worth returning in the summer, although the deer walk was great fun. The only downside was not being able to enter the house...guess we'll just have to visit again!

This NT property is about one hour away from us, but we travel due to the lovely walks. You can't walk far, but there are lots of areas to walk around. There are dear wondering around which is lovely to see.
