Charlecote Park has been home to the Lucy family since the 12th century. Their stories are told throughout the house by their portraits, the objects they collected from around the world and the design influence they had on the house and parkland. See how Mary Elizabeth Lucy remodeled the house in Victorian times. The gardens include a formal parterre, woodland walk and the wider parkland (inspired by 'Capability' Brown), which offer walks with picturesque views across the River Avon. A herd of fallow deer has been in the park since Tudor times.

My wife and I called in at Charlecote Park on the way to a birthday celebration in Oxford. After a coffee we walked around the estate close to the lake and the deer. The weather was kind to us with sunshine and a clear view for miles. After lunch we returned for another walk visiting the shop and the second... More

Visited here with the family. I wouldn't recommend under 5's to go as they do just wanna run around exploring (going around with a boisterous and lively 2 year old was difficult) but its such a beautiful place. Rich in history and information you get a real taste for Victorian aristocratic life. We didn't see much of the grounds as... More

Visited Charlecote Park this weekend and spent four very good hours there, we first of all had a sandwich and a nice coffee in the tea room then looked at the extensive outbuildings before walking around the house itself, there were information boards in each room and very help full volunteers to answer any questions you may have had. We... More

We had planned to visit Charlecote on Stir Up Sunday as we were staying with my sister near Coventry. The weather forecast however was mainly wet for the Sunday so we decided to go the previous day. We started off with morning drinks in the Orangery before visiting the house where we had several pleasant conversations with the very informative... More

Cold day and the young children had the best fun running around the privet garden. Deer watching us watching them. I would have given it a four but the baked potato in the restaurant was atrocious as the skin could have leathered my shoe. I would have complained but I was with my nephew and his young family.

Went to Charlecote park to make good use of my and my wife's membership. And surprise'surprise no dogs allowed except special needs dogs which for some reason whilst on the lead are a different type of animal than other breeds of dog. Yes i know their are deer in the park well in that case give dog owners an area... More

Really, really slow service for drinks at the coffee shop. We ordered food and hot drinks. Food was cooked and arrived 10 mins before I did as I spent do long waiting for 4 hot drinks. Staff didn't think to help the girl on the coffee machine who was clearly struggling with the volume of work, they just kept taking... More

This wonderful park has many walks with sheep and also herds of deer. The house and kitchen and carriage museum are very interesting. St Leonards Church, (Dame Judy Dench is patron), next door is well worth a visit too. One could spend the whole day there.

This was a lovely home to visit - and still very much a home as the Lucy family still live there. The sheep and deer roaming in the grounds and families having picnics made the whole experience feel as if the place was still a living, breathing family home.

Really enjoyed our visit to the house and grounds. Particularly enjoyed the kitchen and brewery. Great to see the implements and everything set up to show how people used to live. In the house the guides were very knowledgeable, and that added to our visit, hearing about the history of the house and the beautiful artifacts and pictures. There is... More
