I went on the Digbeth/ Pubic and Street Art/ Peaky Blinders walking tour last week with some friends from Germany. Jonathan is super knowledgeable about history and modern contexts of the various elements and really bought everything to life with great humour and fun! Having the headphones to be able to hear him even with some distance separation and/ or in crowded places was a great touch though the equipment range I’d say might be about 100 yards. I’d definitely recommend the tour- my friends and I had a great time- but please note that the pace is quite quick with quite a lot of ground covered and info to absorb in 2 hours- I usually walk minimum 10000 steps per day for context. I’m looking forward to getting Jonathan’s recently released book ‘Birmingham Public Art’ to learn more- it looks great!

Hi - Yes, Jonathan does run a fast paced tour. The Digbeth one is the longest of our routes - due to HS2 works. We do however try and temper our pace and overall distance depending on our guests on the day. Yes, the new book, Birmingham's Public Art is a great book to buy after the tour. Street Art of Digbeth is included in a big way.

Fascinating tour. Expertly and interestingly led by Jonathan. Probably more street art focussed than Peaky Blinders but that suited me personally. Highly recommend

Hi - Thanks we love getting feedback in our tours - it helps us so much as we take them forward. On our Digbeth tour we look at 3 elements - origination of Brum, Public art - especially street Art and Peaky Blinders and media. On your tour people not that interested in Peaky Blinders - so street Art took centre stage. On other tours - especially with German guests who come especially for Peaky B's we turn the content up a few notches! It Digbeth tour starts again in Jan 2024 - see Positively Birmingham website for details.

This was a very interesting tour exploring the history and development of Birmingham through exploring the different areas, buildings and building styles. Will defenitely recommend these walking tours as the detail, context and info shared you will not get by merely exploring on your own with a city map. I also did the Digbey street art tour and the combination of the tours really gave a nice overview of the town from two very different perspectives, and uniquely highlighting the city's diversity.

I really enjoyed this tour. It was a type of tour and in an area that I would not typically do, and found it very interesting and enjoyable and discovered an area that I would not have seen if I just followed the typical recommendations. The guide is very knowledgeable and passionate about the area and the public street art and artists which contributed to the outcomes of the tour. I lalso did the other tour of the city and combined it provided a very good overview of the city. Will definitely recommend these walking tours of Birmingham.

Thanks for feeding back. Yes, the Digbeth and Deritend area of the city has so much to see but it is a very different experience than the more touristy parts (if there are such a thing in Birmingham) of the city. Your tour guide, Jonathan Berg has just had the book: Birmingham's Public Art published - it includes a lot of the street art that you saw on the walk. Do look on the Positively Birmingham website for a list of all our upcoming tours.

This tour complemented our morning tour with Jonathan who remained just as enthusiastic despite not having had time for lunch. As well as being very informative, we discovered an amazing landscape of a city I thought I already knew. He provided a balanced and fair historical perspective right up to the present day.

Hey - sometimes when we have alor on tour we split the group into two and end up missing lunch! You guys had stamina as well to do both our Saturday tours back to back. See you again soon. In the meantime remember JB's book: Birmingham's Public Art is available on Amazon and tells an amazing story of Birmingham artistry

Jonathan was an energetic, enthusiastic guide who introduced me to a whole world of street art that I knew nothing about. This will change my appreciation of urban landscapes. He also covered a lot of interesting local history and architecture. The audio system worked well in noisy environments.

Thanks. Yes the audio system is essential for the exploratory tours we do of Birmingham. Even in a large group you can hear every word. You can also be away from the group a bit and perhaps take some photos and still stay totally connected. The Saturday morning Digbeth tour has so much in it - from the origins of our city to the most recent street art - and even the UN40 recording studio site! Tour guide Jonathan has recently completed the book: Birmingham's Public Art which is available in Birmingham bookshops and online.

Street art tour of creative Digbeth in Brum was a revelation - experiencing the variety of street art, hearing about their work and living and Digbeth's next phase of creative development alongside HS2. Fascinating insight into a side of Birmingham less seen.

Birmingham's street artists are among the best in the country. Our Digbeth tour looks at them and gets to understand how they work in different ways to express their art and pay the mortgage. We see the work of some of the best creatives in our city - including those known across the world. Jonathan Berg' s book: Birminghams' Public Art has a whole chapter on street art of Birmingham. Available in Birmingham bookshops and all online bookshops.
