We went to see Peter Pan matinee on the 12th Jan 25. It was brilliant! The cast were fab and we had a right laugh but we must give a big shout out to Linda, the employee who was managing the Prosecco Lounge. Her customer service was amazing and we shared with her that we loved the lounge because it helps with my husbands ADHD as he struggles with crowds. As we were brought the tickets we didn’t know where we were sitting. Linda came to find us in the auditorium to check we were ok with where we were sitting and also offered my husband to go back to the lounge if it became overwhelming so he could watch the live stream on the tv in the lounge. We always worry with places like this, and Linda made us feel so at ease! I highly recommend this lounge for those who struggle with crowds or those who want a little calm space to enjoy a drink before the performance.

We've attended 5 shows and every one has been well organised. Tickets/ bags are checked properly on entering. It can get busy but there are kiosks and toilets on each floor plus extra eating areas if booked. The staff are really helpful with showing you to your seats and answering any questions. We recently had excellent customer service or a particular member of staff which I've fed back to the Hippodrome.
Unfortunately on our latest visit my husband was unable to attend with us due to illness. Luckily we had taken out the ticket refund protection. It's taken less then 2 days to have the refund approved. Very easy process.

We visited last night to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and because I'm now in a wheelchair the lady usherette was so helpful helping getting me from the chair to the seat, she also came several times to make sure I was ok which on its own is worth 5 stars.
Today I had to call the access line to ask for help in some circle seats we had for Kinky Boots which I couldn't access.
The lady who dealed with me I think she was called Mariana
This lady is an asset to the theatre, she went above and beyond her duty to try and relocate us to stalls seats I could manage which she did, whilst she was on the phone we went thru some other bookings we already had made and managed to sort us into accessible seats for me
We now have our theatre visits all booked up without worrying will I get to the seats ok as she's made them all accessible.
Once again thank you 💐 to the staff and management for all their hard work in accomadating us.

I went to see Cinderella on the 27th of February and booked the proscenium lounge as I was travelling on my own. I was warmly greeted by Linda and Shinchi who explained the facilities to me. They were very professional and friendly and I felt very at ease with them. they looked after me beautifully and Linda even took me to my seat which was lovely. I highly recommend booking this facility whether you are on your own or with friends as it will make the occasion extra special.

WOW I would absolutely recommend this intimate, relaxed lounge (seating around 16 guests) for pre show and interval drinks and nibbles ( one drink complimentary and nibbles served at your private table) Well worth the extra money. LINDA the lounge host was wonderful, so helpful, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us with a big smile always on her face. THANK YOU LINDA! She continuously topped up our crisps/ snacks and checked if we were happy with everything throughout our time there. This lounge made our whole theatre experience 10x better. We arrived early to make the most of the lounge.

I come to Birmingham Hippodrome several times a year and it's probably my favourite theatre to visit despite having to travel a bit further afield. As a plus size person I find their seats to be the most comfortable of the majority of theatres I've visited and the view is good from pretty much every seat.
I like that if you buy sweets/chocolate at their kiosk they'll give you a tub to put them in so you're not rustling wrappers throughout the performance!
At their panto at the end of the year I had an issue that left me feeling extremely upset and disappointed, spoke to Simon at the end of the performance who put me in touch with Debbie and they managed to save the experience for me - I'm still so grateful for their kindness and for not dismissing my issue!!
Genuinely one of the best venues in the West Midlands, they always have great shows on throughout the year and the theatre is always clean and comfortable. No complaints!

A ‘Huge’ shout out to the whole staff, cast & crew at the Saturday 31st matinee performance of ‘Hamilton’ - you were incredible! One of our party of four was wheelchair bound (not usually so, and was not expected when we booked ‘Upper Circle’ seats to see this show) but I have to congratulate specifically; Tina on the merchandise desk for taking extra time to serve us with special thought for our invalided guest even bringing items from the back, to the front so that we could see them at close quarters before deciding on our purchases, a massive smile and a great sense of humour and without a sense of ‘hurry’ to make the sale - Thank you Tina. ….and Tony on ‘front of house’. WOW! - you’re a real asset to the team - thank you! …Tony greeted us at the front door on our arrival, arranged clear passage to the lift, ensured that other team members were ready to expect us on our journey through the theatre, and even assisted our party when we arrived at our booked seats by asking another family if they minded moving further into the row to accommodate our disabled guest. At the interval Tony made sure that we were comfortable in our seats and again ensured that our ‘special guest’ could freely access the toilets and get back to their seat in time for the second act without a feeling of being rushed. To the whole cast & crew... you were all - without exception - phenomenal! My daughter had been waiting for two years to see this show live and you did not dissapoint her! This was not our first visit to this wonderful nostalgic theatre and it most definitely won’t be the last. - Birmingham Hippodrome, THANK YOU!

We booked a pre show meal in the Circle Lounge and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the experience.
We we courteously greeted and shown to our table and Prachiti who was very polite and pleasant took our order.
The Tapas style food was delightful and beautifully presented. We chose 2 dishes each a side dish and a dessert and found this to be more than adequate.
We would highly recommend the restaurant and would definitely book again.

Dinner at the Circle Restaurant is perfect pre-show - the small plates are interesting and tasty and our waiter Telvin was attentive and helpful.
Matthew Bournes Swan Lake was mind blowing. Powerful, emotional, beautiful. The skill and energy of all the dancers, but particularly the male swans, was outstanding. The whole cast thoroughly deserved the prolonged standing ovation at the end.

This is a great venue , the staff are always so helpful and pleasant and thee are plenty of toilets and places to sit with a drink.
Plenty of parking on the street around the venue and in multi story car parks.
We went to see performance of Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake - we were totally mesmerized by the performance from start to finish , absolutely incredible production and the ensemble were simply outstanding.
Probably the best thing we have seen for a very long time and have booked to go again in April.
Thank yo for having the foresight to stage this incredible experience.

Hi, I’m taking a family member to the theatre soon, she struggles with mobility, but not enough for a wheelchair! We have tickets at the very end of the row! Does the end seat on the row have arms that lift up? Hoping it does to aid them with getting in the seat! Thanks in advance

Only just seen this question sorry, I too always sit on the end of the row due to mobility issues but my seat did not have a moving arm they were fixed

Loads of Asian restaurants as Hippodrome is in the middle of Chinatown. However we had a nice meal at the nearby Las Iguanas restaurant

Has anybody taken snacks? I’ve looked on the website and it’s said you aren’t allowed, but most theatres I’ve visited have allowed them.
Written 12 August 2019
Not sure of the official line but cannot remember any searches and presume people do take in their own treats. There is a good coffee counter which also sells cake and snacks and a bar too together with usual interval ice creams so ample choice.

Hi, just wondered how easy it would be to get a taxi from the hippodrome to broad street and approx cost, thanks in advance
Written 4 August 2019
If there's still loads of roadworks going on in broad Street, you'd be better off walking the 10-15 minutes than paying for a taxi. It's quite easy.
