Did the Resistance Escape room. From the start where we met in the lounge area with private locking cabinet for our secure items, through to the journey to the room itself (I am revealing anything though!), the experience was truly amazing. The experience combines Escape Room with an Interactive experience that is different to many around. A real gem in the Selly Oak area of Birmingham!

it was so good!! :) the rooms were challenging and the tasks very well done. the atmosphere made it a really fun day out, definitely recommend if your in Birmingham as it’s super easy to get to and right near the selly oak train station. our games host james was lovely, would definitely come back to do another one

We have been to the room ‘survival’ today and there was an NPC in it instructing us. It is different to other escape rooms I have been to and the decorations in the room scared us. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. We will definitely try another room next time.

We did the survival room, and having done about 30 escape rooms, I would say this is the best escape room experience I’ve ever done. The puzzles were planned out really well, it was full of surprises, and for a scary room, it was actually scary, unlike many other horror theme rooms I’ve done. The thought and detail was outstanding, and puzzles followed on logically. The guys and gals who work there were super friendly and really made our experience great. The escape room I’d give 5 star, however the reception area was a bit messy and toilets not clean, although I think this is because they are relatively new to get setup, having only opened at the beginning of the year then being closed due to Covid. I think if they make the reception areas look a little more professional, this could be one of the top escape room establishments in Birmingham.

It was really good thrill & scare. We enjoyed it very much so. We was thinking that after going in the tunnel it would be another room. That would have been so fun. But overall had a fab time, it was quite dear in price wouldnt do it so often as we liked because of that reason.

We played Resistance. It was definitely different to any escape rooms I had done before. I would class it more as an immersive event with a few puzzles. Lots of the time was spent on storytelling. If you like a room that is packed with puzzles and things to explore then it's not really for you. There were also some weird delays we didn't really understand. I am not sure if we got things wrong and they just moved the story on manually or if there is just a delay in the story moving forward. Some really cool touches and things I hadn't seen before in escape rooms, but not enough exploration required for me to enjoy it.

My son and I had a good time. Somewhat tricky but we did it lol.
I was in Birmingham to watch a football match but we killed some time here. The owner was a great guy and good luck to him.

Gonna be honest I do not understand all the 5-star reviews*. The whole thing felt tired including the game master, who clearly just couldn't give a toss, no offence. The horror was lacklustre I'm sorry to say. It was dark. There were jump scares. That was about it. The set left something to be desired and the puzzles too. Plus a fair amount of jank. Sorry just didn't feel worth the price point. Love escape rooms and immersive stuff and this just didn't do it for us. ( *lots of 1-contribution accounts so hmmmmmm. )

Survivor game
A puzzles didn’t work when the correct result was entered which resulted in us being confused for 20 minutes. We were blamed for not positioning the the colours correctly and in the dead center of the puzzle. Someone had to come in to check and confirmed we were right which kinda killed it for us.
My friend also sustained injuries from a drop for which he now needs a chiropractor.. otherwise good, not worth the travel from Essex though.

We are sorry to hear that our game is not as you expected. Our game master supervisor will contact you to understand more about what has happed, and investigate into the situation. In the meanwhile, we will suspend the on duty staff from working based on the possible mis-operation of the machines and puzzles. We will also contact you regarding the injury and remedy from us.
At the moment when I’m writing this review, we have done another check and maintenance to all our puzzles to make sure they are working properly and no further issues like this may happen again.
At 404 we always wish to bring the best experience of escape room and immersive environment where possible. Apology again to your experience and we wish you a good day.

Really disappointed, I purchased an Escape Room experience on Groupon, when I went to book it wouldn’t accept my voucher number, no answer when I call or text the contact numbers. AVOID this place.
