With a gemmologist daughter studying jewellery manufacture, we really enjoyed this tour. It felt as though the owners had just popped out for lunch and would be back at any moment! Everything was just as they left it years before. The tour guide explained everything and answered all our questions, it was well worth a visit!

Poor reception as called in to cafe to be told 'did the man not tell you. We are closed as too much back work to be done. Not the right way to treat people coming in for a coffee/tea. Will not go there on future and won't tell friends to visit as really naff treatment

We are not really museum people but this was very interesting. The tours are guided and our lady guide was very informative and amusing. You are shown the offices, factory, how the men and women worked and the conditions they worked under. A definite must visit xx

Well worth a visit to this time capsule of a museum. Very informative tour by Rupert who worked for the company so you really got a first hand overview of life in the jewellery trade. Quite amazed that the museum formed from the company closing down and leaving everything as it was when they shut the door. You visit the... More

Join the tour. Great guide. Detailed story of the manufacture of gold jewellery. Absolutely fascination if you have been working in manufacturing. Sadly no jewel stone working but great insights into working in the early 20th century. Just think of the physical skill and working conditions. A real eye opener.

The guided tour of the museum is unmissable. With the history of the jewellery factory, the artifacts still in situ and a knowledgeable guide to demonstrate and fascinate you, this is so much a living museum. We were quite interested in the museum, but on a tight budget, wavered at the entrance fee - but afterwards decided it was money... More

With the huge changes in the social and industrial history of Birmingham over the past decades; much of which has been lost to the bulldozer, it was refreshing to see a key part of that history secured for the future within this fantastic time capsule of a "museum". It was as they said on the tour literally left as the... More

We had planned to visit this museum whilst in Birmingham. The visit far exceeded our expectations, in particular the fascinating tour of the factory led by our guide Brendan. He really brought the history of the place to life with stories about the workers and various demonstrations along the way of jewellery making techniques. A definite must visit whilst in... More

We popped in out of the cold really while we waited for a ring to be ready and never expected it to be so interesting. We booked a guided tour, Brendan our guide was very informative and knowledgeable about the whole tour. It is well worth a visit and gives a real insite on the working conditions and set up... More
