About
The National Motorcycle Museums award winning facilities provides a truly unique venue for your conference, seminar, banquet or function. Breathtaking displays of literally hundreds of fully restored British motorcycles are on hand to provide an extra attraction to your delegates. We aim to offer more than a unique venue, however. We know that the success of any function is dependent upon the backing and support of an experienced and caring staff. 13 luxuriously appointed and newly renovated suites, ranging from just 5 to up to 1000 delegates offer the flexibility to suite most requirements. The National Motorcycle Museum is at the hub of the country’s motorway system and rail network, with Birmingham International railway station just five-minutes taxi ride away. Access from everywhere within the UK is direct and overseas visitors praise the excellent international services provided at Birmingham Airport, which is less than two miles in distance away. The National Exhibition Centre is also near the Museum complex and we offer vast car parking facilities. Many of our clients are ‘blue-chip’ companies from home and overseas. They come back to us time after time – we know you will too, and look forward to seeing you to discuss your requirements in the near future.

- Tina M1 contributionSo helpfulI’d like to say a big thanks to James Hewing . After meeting the lovely ladies at the museums stand at the NEC ,they suggested I contact James about an old family photo we had with my father-in-law on a motorcycle. None of the family could remember the make of the bike . James was very helpful and solved the question for us . Thank you James and the museum for taking the time. We are very grateful. - Carmen FPreston, United Kingdom69 contributionsGreat place to visitWe have finally find a museum that will keep our 10 year old interested for the entire duration of a visit. We visited as a family of 4. The family ticket is good value. The museum is interesting for all ages and there is plenty to see and do. There is a good 'dress up' area for the young ( and not so young). Husband happy as he had set the kids a challenge to see if they could find a Matador, thinking that there wouldn't be one. There was :) The cafe is pretty good too.Visited February 2023Written 17 February 2023
- Russell HartyGeneva, Switzerland37 contributionsGreat Collection of British MotrorcyclesI had a very enjoyable visit. The museum is packed with all the leading British motorcycle models since the 1880s to the present. The collection deserves to be housed in a larger building to allow visitors to view the motorcycles from 360 degrees but the huge quantity of motorbikes was magical. I would have liked the information panels to be in much bigger font. I found myself picking up the panels by the motorbikes in order to have a good read. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. There is a cafeteria which serves hot tea, sausage rolls and pasties; as well as a shop selling motorbike clothes, books and trinkets. Unlike the Harley Davidson museum in Milwaukee there are no interactive exhibits, animation or museum quality panels to explain the history and development of the UK motorcycle industry. Notwithstanding this, the collection itself is absolutely wonderful. I look forward to a second visit later in the year.. Definitely a collection to be visited and savoured over and over.Visited February 2023Written 1 March 2023
- Firbb14 contributionsNot just a Museum!I went on the Try a Classic Bike Day today and it was great fun. Well organised with knowledgeable people and great to see that the bikes are not just museum pieces but are kept in working order. Will definitely go again and recommend it to my friends.Visited April 2023Travelled soloWritten 8 April 2023
- Mobile064697057632 contributionsTry a classic bike sessionSigned up for a Try a Classic Bike session (one of the perks of being a Friend of the Museum). Spent a wonderful morning pootling around a cordoned off track in the car park on a great selection of machines - reliving my youth plus trying out some exotica that I would never otherwise get to ride. The staff and volunteers were all brilliant - really helpful, and very relaxed. All in all a great experience and left a huge smile on my face. Thanks to everyone involved.Visited April 2023Travelled soloWritten 8 April 2023

It was well-organised, the weather was great (maybe they cannot take credit for that), well supported and the staff were polite and helpful. I rode on several classic bikes and enjoyed good food and drinks during the breaks. Great value for money, will do it again.Visited April 2023Travelled soloWritten 9 April 2023
- Jean TSouthport, United Kingdom5 contributionsGreat day outJust returned home after an excellent day at the Museum. In the morning I attended the "Try a classic" event for friends of the museum. 11 Bikes were available and I managed to ride all the bikes. Where else could you get to ride classic bikes such as Velocettes, BSA Gold star, Triumphs, Ariels, Enfield, and a Vincent. The Museum is fantastic with an extensive range of bikes in five halls. Put it on your list of places to visit it's not to be missed.Visited April 2023Travelled soloWritten 9 April 2023
- Piers W5 contributionsAnother great day at the museum!Along with 2 friends I attended the ‘Try a Classic Bike Day’. This event is open to members of the museum and makes available about 12 bikes from the collection to be ridden around a short course. Each rider is able to try a bike for a number of laps before handing over and moving on to another machine. It is a unique opportunity to to experience riding a selection of bikes from as early as the 1920s in a safe environment over the course of an afternoon. Not to be missed! The staff and volunteers did an excellent job of providing a well-organised, safe and exceptionally enjoyable day out. I would recommend anyone with an interest in bikes or Britain’s engineering history to visit the museum and, for a modest outlay, to become a member. This incredible collection of over 800 bikes is well worth supporting.Visited April 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 10 April 2023

As a Friend of the museum I appreciate the opportunity to ride some excellent British bikes of yesteryear. Nice collection of machines, in a good facility but not sure if you have a problem with your heating, or you just didn’t switch it on but it was very cold in all the exhibition areas, which made our visit slightly unpleasant.

Had an amazing personal tour for my father's 80th birthday. The staff and the tour guide very engaging and couldn't do enough for my father and us. . The guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and he made my father feel very special.
I would recommend it for both motorcycle enthusiast and for those who know very little. It was very great day out and can't wait to go again.

The third time I have done this. Great value for £20 you get about 2 hrs of riding a selection of classic bikes and chatting with fellow enthusiasts in the museum grounds. You get to ride BSA and Triumph twins back to back along with some older, less common bikes. The short 'horseshoe' circuit is great for feeling the old bikes responding to your input on the tight turns and viewing other bikes being ridden round along side you.

I recently had the privilege of test riding a selection of the museum's motorcycles. This is one of the advantages that a "friends of the museum membership" offers. It also shows that not only does the museum house a wonderful collection of a thousand British motorcycles, but that they are restored and kept in working order.

I absolutely recommended visiting here, they have a great collection of bikes over 5 large rooms, from the earliest attempts at powered travel to fully enclosed speed record attempt machines, a good selection of food and drinks and enthusiastic staff. I went on one of thier 'try a classic bike' days open to members of the museum, a really unique experience and great value for money.

Great afternoon at the museum.
As a “friend” of the museum had the opportunity to ride some of the museum’s bikes and experience different makes from the last 100 years.
Museum experience was good as usual, good cafe, friendly staff and volunteers. The collection is always worth a look roun.

I attended the museum today for the craft fair. This is not the first time I've been and its not the first time the servers have provided poor/none existent customer service. I was on the receiving end of it today and I've observed the staff treat other customers appallingly too.
Considering the amount of custom the craft fair brings in please hire more staff and ensure you are fully stocked with the food you advertise. Also please invest in training your staff about what good customer service looks like as they are sorely lacking.
If you are thinking of coming when the craft fair is on, I suggest you bring your own food and a thermos.

I visited with a keen biking mate and was astonished at the vast collection of machines from across the decades, and all in meticulous condition. He appreciated the more modern machines, while I enjoyed the technical diversity of the pioneering models, so there's absolutely something for everyone from sidecars to scary drag racers! Every machine had a good write up, but I did feel that the entire collection seemed just a bit 'static' and a few video screens showing the exciting exploits of both early riders and latter day racers would engage the less technically minded. Otherwise, very rewarding to chat to the passionate staff and owning family...and the cafe was great. Needs a full day or a re-visit.

I went to the musuem last friday upon paying for my ticket i was told (rather nonchalantly) that you do not accept cash why? I didn't have means to pay by card there is still some of the general public like and believe that cash is king i left very disappointed and somewhat belittled with this situation i hope that the powers that be look at my complaint with a little empathy regards heath Marshall
