Welcome to St Martin in the Bull Ring. This is one of the most ancient and contemporary buildings in Birmingham. Most of this Grade II listed church is from the nineteenth century. It was built in 1873 and is an example of gothic Victorian architecture, designed by Alfred Chatwin, from Birmingham, who also worked on the houses of parliament. But St Martin's is much older than that. There has been a church on this site since 1290 and may well have been a simple place of worship here in Saxon times. St Martin's is also a place of worship for a thriving community who refurbished the building in 2000 making it more light and open. In 2009 we created a tea lounge, healing center, and learning and advice service so our hospitality in the heart of the city could be extended. We believe that what Jesus called 'Life in all its fullness' can be discovered right here in the crosscurrents of the marketplace. You are very welcome to come in and walk around.

Best place to get coffee in town. Unexpected concert in the church (free). A place of peace and quiet amidst the city if you need to have a break in your day

Stunning piece of architecture and an incredible location for food and shopping. It is massive. As modern and unconventional as the design is it doesn't look weird beside the old church of St Martins Church.

I remember the opening of the first one in the early 60's when I was a student in Birmingham. Now that was something special then! It is clean and clinical. Lots of shops, all mainly national high street retailers. Very busy on Saturday but the "crowds" moved around easily. Half of the underground car park is closed which meant a... More

It's great to just come in here and unwind after the hustle and bustle of the city. Especially at Christmas time when the Christmas tree is up and it's lovely to just go in and light a candle and say a prayer. There is a busy little coffee shop and there is an AA meeting there on a Saturday afternoon... More

It's quite the spectacle and quite the shopping district. I think this is one of the must do attractions of Birmingham. Although there are no activities to do here with friends and families as it's primarily a shopping district, the architecture is quite something. There are three floors which can be accessed via lifts in case someone was planning a... More

Clean, inviting, warm and friendly. Took two German friends who were most impressed with this jewel of a place. Everywhere accessible on three floors with all the well known shops and much more. Toilets clean, not like some other places. Germans bought stuff as if it was going out of fashion. Well worth a visit (but make sure the wife... More

This is a place to visit for all the different shops within Birmingham and is all indoors. The only thing letting it down is on the outside where they have the rag market and is scruffy and could do with a better upgrade.

The bullring is spread over two wings and is located in a setting where there are many shops, coffee parlours and small resturants nearby, Although it has a huge selfridges and a few high end brands like Michael Kors, you basically find your average shops like Zara, H&M in the vicinity and the Mall. If you're looking for high end... More
