Visit BBC Birmingham's state-of-the-art studios: home of The Archers,...

Visit BBC Birmingham's state-of-the-art studios: home of The Archers, Midlands Today and BBC WM. Take a peek behind the scenes and then join in some interactive fun as you create your own radio drama complete with sound effects and music! BBC Tour guides give a fascinating insight into the many programmes originating from BBC Birmingham and tell the inside story of what it takes to get them from script to screen. They are also on hand to answer any burning questions relating to technical wizardry, famous faces that have visited the building or even where Nick Owen gets his jokes! This is your invitation to gain access to the rarely-seen world behind the famous TV and radio programmes that are broadcast and produced from BBC Birmingham. BBC Birmingham is a working building so no two tours are the same, but they will always be informative, interesting and entertaining. In 2010 the tours won the Best Tourism Experience in the Heart of England. Ticket prices range from £7 - £9.25 and tours last up to one-and-a-half hours. Tours regularly take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the day (with some tours in the evening). Please see website for further details. The building is wheelchair accessible. All children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

I took my parents as a belated 80th and early 80th birthday experience for them. The information I was sent regarding how to get there was fantastic and on our arrival we were met by a Security Officer who directed us to the waiting area which was very pleasant and comfortable. Straight away you see things in the foyer which... More

We went on the BBC Birmingham tour 21/1/2017 and it was well worth the trip. We were taken around by our guides Sue and Kate both nice ladies. We saw the news room and media rooms but the highlight for us was the Archers set my partner is a huge fan! and we both really enjoyed it. We were able... More

Cracking tour. My older teenagers really enjoyed it, so I really recommend it for them ( not so sure about younger teens, but the tour booking info says this when booking too) It's easy to get to, just a walk from New Street Station. Lasted about 1.45 mins with Holly and Rachel. They were fantastically informative jolly tour guides who... More

We had a great time. Sue and Katie made us very welcome, we had the chance to visit the Archers studio - including seeing where NIgel fell off the roof - and there was a very special treat which I won't spoil for others. The Midlands Today studio proved to be a suprising place, we were let into the secret... More

Although we didn't take an official tour we looked around the exhibits and through the glass into the studios ... Daleks and other space travellers, a time machine, some sparkly strictly dresses, the Archers and the chance to present the weather All under the watchful eyes of the peaky blinders with our informative guide Holly

We were a group(35) from Stevenage and had guided tour with Holly and Emma who were enthusiastic and informative. Highlight for many of us? The Studio for the Archers!! Guess some more of us will be tuning in now! Patrick and Stevenage SKAGS.

Party of adults in Birmingham for a weekend and we booked a BBC Tour. It was great. Sue and Emma were our guides and were warm, friendly and knowledgeable. Loads of interesting information and behind the scenes secrets. Some really good public spaces in the building that are accessible without being booked on the tour too. BBC Blue Room area... More
