What a building! Never before have I seen fairy lights put to such good effect! The Shakespeare room & view point at the top are definitely worth the 150 step climb. The Secret Garden (which isn't so secret...) offers a fab view of the city.

Several floors filled with anything your heart yearns to discover can be found here. Travel to the observation area to see a view of the city. Enjoy the serenity of the moment.

Nice place to have a coffee and read, but the building itself is a punch in the eye like most of the modern architecture in Britain, tacky and cheap. Quality and prices for food and beverage are a bit too high and the staff it's...More

A huge library with an enormous amount of books, in a wide open airy building. Café good for a refreshing hot or cold drink.

Impressively spacious and airy the library induces a very calming influence. Great views over the city from the upper floors which include outdoor gardens. At the very top is the unique Shakespeare Memorial Room. Go and be inspired!

Huge selection of books. Amazing view of the city centre on the top floor. Clean, helpful staff. There wasn't parking available immediately outside the library when I went, though there was a lot of construction work being carried out. Not sure if that has changed...More

Lovely internal space - quite futuristic in design. Being February the two rooftop gardens were not at their best but it was nice to see some greenery in the center of the city. Great views. Also liked the Shakespear room on the 9th floor.
