Really enjoyed going to Martineau Gardens. Its not big but its a nice place to go for old and young and everything in between. One of those places children love to explore. I bought some nice cheap Spring plants on my way out too.

I attended the honey show which was held in Martineau gardens recently. I have visited before with family. Has plant nurseries, wooded areas and a play area featuring an artificial ship wreck and sand. Nice quiet place for a picnic. I think tea/coffee is served in the pavilion and toilet facilities available.…

Visited here for the first time this morning. So close to the city but you fell that your are miles from anywhere. Took my two dogs (must be on a lead) and they were, like us made to feel very welcome. Plenty to see and great for the kids. Several areas where you can just sit to gather your thoughts. Plants for sale at great prices, Three ponds and a woodland area for the kids to explore (with an adult). Clean toilets and such a fantastic display of plants and veg. Free to enter. Like me once you visit I am sure you will want to return. Please ensure you find the donation box and contribute what you can afford before you leave to help support the work at this fantastic place. My visited lasted over two hours as the staff and volunteers and the other people visiting were so friendly.…

Visited Martineau Gardens yesterday with my 4 year old son to do the Stickman trail which he really enjoyed. It’s only a small place, I don’t think we could have spent any more than a couple of hours here but it’s lovely to give the kids a run around and there is a small play area/pirate type ship and some cars etc dotted about as well which he liked. Staff and volunteers are very helpful and friendly, and if you pop in to the office they are happy to make you a drink for a small donation. Worth a visit if you have a couple of hours to spare and need to get out of the house!…
