Interesting collection
Sep 2019
My favourite pieces were the pictures, by Trevor Lord, of the city centre which are so atmospheric.
The Katherine Fryer exhibition was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

A little gem for that gift that's unique
Jul 2018 • Solo
This is a small gallery, but the items on display are for sale. There are always ceramics, and on this visit a fun selection of acrylic, silver, & leather jewellery, you never know what you'll find, but usually there is something you'll like.

Cornucopia
Mar 2018 • Solo
Cornucopia is the title of the first floor exhibition of paintings pottery sculpture and textiles celebrating the natural world. On the floor above an exhibition mainly of paintings by RBSA members. However I saved the best for last namely an exhibition on the ground floor of photo collages by Nathalie Seymour and some impressive sculpture busts by Robert Page ranging from a somnolent Achilles to an alert Capability Brown. There’s also a cafe and bookshop. Cornucopia indeed.

Pleasant stop
Mar 2018 • Couples
On a snowy and cold day, we ate at the nearby Indian restaurant Laskan - highly recommended - and popped in to visit the gallery afterwards. Enjoyable especially the upper floors.

Art Exhibitions
Aug 2017 • Friends
The RBSA has exhibitions of Members' art plus shows the finals of the University Jewellery Dept. It is off the beaten track but not far from the Museum and Art Gallery. Perhaps 15 min walk away. Downstairs you can admire the jewellery which is easily seen in the glass cases whilst also looking at the paintings on the walls. I liked the abstract scenes of the countryside. Upstairs (and there is a lift) there were good sculptures and paintings. I really admired a stoneware woman's head with hat. Two pictures were of the same' Viking' but by different artists!

If you're going to put your opening times online you need to make sure they're correct. Wasted trip.

Dear Mike, Thank you for your comment. Please could you e-mail rbsagallery@rbsa.org.uk with a link to the incorrect information? As of this year, we are closed during all Bank Holidays. Any additional Easter and Christmas closure dates are also posted on our Facebook account, Twitter account, and website news. We updated our website some time ago with these changes to our opening hours but will check again to ensure no incorrect information remains. Thank you for bringing the issue to our attention. Natalie

Everyday art....
Jan 2017 • Solo
The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists Gallery is a small two-floor space with a changing mix of art pieces---paintings, photographs, jewellery, pottery, depending on the focus at the time---nearly all of them for sale at affordable prices.
The pleasure here lies in finding the piece you like best---and deciding if it has a place in your life. It's an hour's browse, rather than an all-afternoon visit with the children....
There's a pleasant small cafe and a shop too.
Well worth a visit, especially as it's just 5 minutes walk from Colmore Row....

Perfect for Artists and Art Lovers
Feb 2017 • Friends
Although tucked away in the Jewellery Quarter the RBSA Gallery has a vibrant atmosphere. It often has live demonstrations from artists and sells very affordable work all made by local craftspeople. A great way to spend a cultural afternoon!
