Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have loved climbing at BBC. Really friendly staff and great for beginners. I’ve also been able to use the weights in the gym which is a bonus. Good coffee, good people and great climbing - would highly recommend

I learnt to climb here. It had great routes and really friendly staff. You can even get a beer afterwards!

The super centre is housed beneath two former converted railway arches and was really quirky which we loved.Since the centre was quiet during the day our teens pretty much had the run of the two excellent bouldering rooms with some interesting problems and a good workout of their skills.
Shoes, chalk and other equipment were all available for hire and the shop sells good priced climbing shoes and other gear if you are in the market. We thought admission was fairly priced and allowed for a full day of indoor fun away from the drizzle.
We were served by the lovely Steve who was polite, helpful & personable and he quickly & efficiently got us booked in so the teenagers could speedily begin their warm up & climb.
We enjoyed the tunes played and even stayed for lunch - which was superbly priced and consisted of hot & cold drinks, various panini's, cakes, chocolates and snacks. Steve was on hand and was happy to make a simple change to the menu without fuss and when food arrived it was perfect - hot & tasty. The dining seating area was lovely and the well positioned comfy seats allowed Claire and I to spend time nattering whilst still overseeing our teenagers without being overly intrusive.
The centre itself is not hard to locate In the city and signs outside and in were clear and easy to read. As with most of city centre Birmingham businesses there was no parking other than on the street & care must be taken to park in the right zone and not a permit holders only area where clamping is in operation - Steve was helpful with his local knowledge in directing us to a suitable place to park which was great and climbing grades were clearly listed and well signed plus toilet facilities were basic but clean and tidy.
I would definitely recommend the centre if you fancy a new place and thanks bi to Steve.for fast, efficient service !

The routes are original and challenging at every grade. A lot of effort is clearly put in to re-setting regularly and ensuring the setting is always high quality. Love how friendly the atmosphere is... with some great tunes on in the background too!

I visited Birmingham bouldering Centre with some friends on Sunday morning, there was a group of 5 of us. The guy on the reception was friendly and efficient, sorting us all out with forms, shoes and payments quickly and easily.

The centre itself isn't huge but it's enough to have some fun. We used two different rooms and spotted a cheeky gym upstairs. Sunday morning had a relaxed vibe and there was a little baby there showing us how it was done which, as a new mum, I thought was fantastic that they allowed them to come and play with the grown ups. Great place for some play time for newbies and the more advanced. Found out that one of our friends had his own chalk sack, secret boulderer came out the closet!

One thing I wasnt too sure about when googling was the parking situation. On a Sunday there was plenty of street parking around, we did see a car park just off the ring road round the corner but paying is for schmucks haha

My wife and I have been going to BBR for about 2-years, and have received nothing but smiles, support, encouragement, and expertise from the staff and other members. These attributes were so important when we were novices setting out on our bouldering journey... The centre is cosy and friendly, always has a mix of challenging routes, and serves excellent (and cheap) coffee and cake. There's a small but functional gym upstairs for working on your finger guns. Overall, this is an amazing place we love going to - it kinda feels like you're visiting someone's house - I guess the owner has managed to create some hygge ;) Highly recommended, so if you are bored and at home, get your butt down here now!

Small centre in two railway arches. Good varied route setting gives plenty to go at and thought has been put into them so are not all just pull ups

Good routes, nice and high and plenty of room. I would like a few more traversing routes. Big lockers wouldn't hurt either. But very good and a favourite of mine.
