Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Party of three, the old man & two Lewis Hamilton’s racer’s !!! (One 28 & another 24 yrs of age) Booking online was easy & when we arrived registration was plain sailing.
Safety protocol beforehand so as stated arrive 30 minutes before your racing slot.
Had the track to ourselves which gave them no excuses.
First session wet which as with any other track makes it very interesting.
After a break second session track had dried out, very enjoyable experience.
Would have made it more interesting if there was a few more participants but then we’ve also been elsewhere when there’s twelve racing which tends to slow things down. Nice size track to great the adrenaline pumping.
Great couple of sessions, thanks John & the team.

Replace the karts and update everything as it seems very old and outdated. The website is very old and does block booking few hours before the available time slot. Because of that you will loose your 10% discount. The karts are slow and accelerate very slowly. They claim it is up to 60mph but keep in mind that it is "up to". You will want to go home after the 1st race. When we mentioned that one of the karts is much slower than the others they did not even say a word... Clearly they don't want people to return. Don't waste your money on this as you can find other places that are much nicer and cheaper. Probably if you would bring your own kart then it would be fine.

We attended an Open Wheels 30 event. There were 11 racers in total and after a safety briefing, we got eight minutes of qualifying to determine your grid position, followed by 30 minutes of racing.
I thought the track and karts were really good and the mixed group made for some interesting racing. It is, however, difficult to find, which means that racers are often late arriving (our 3pm race start, ended up being 3.30). Though the safety briefing and on track marshalling was good, the general level of customer service wasn’t great, nobody took it upon themselves to explain where we needed to go, why we were delayed etc.
At the end there was a winners rostrum, fizz and medals, and full lap timings were sent out later via email - always good for bragging rights!
So overall good fun, but it could be even better with a bit more emphasis on customer care.

Attended a charity event here - had it not been for charity, I would have been looking to get my money back.
The reliability of the karts was so poor. The staff were (thankfully) very helpful, but it's always awkward when you've had a bad time and it's nothing you could do.
Would not recommend this to people looking to make corporate or event bookings here.

A friend and I headed to Birmingham for a random day trip and after looking on google for ideas of what to do, we came across Grand Prix Karting and what a fun time we had.
After the Uber driver found it difficult to find the place due to road closures, we called them and they were extremely accommodating in our late arrival.
After registering on the computers, we were taken to a briefing room and given guidance on the karts, the circuit and the track rules. Craig our instructor was fun and made us feel excited for the race ahead.
With the cold snap, he ensured we had enough kit on to remain warm and explained the ice on the track could be fun but to take care so we did and it was with my friend safely spinning out a few times much to my joy 😀
There were two twenty minute sessions and a ten minute break in between to review our first set of results and warm up a little.
This time of year when we went at 4.30pm our first race session was in daylight and our second under darkness and artificial light so for beginners it felt like being on the Abu Dhabi circuit in F1 lol.
The staff kindly took photos of us as we went round the circuit too which was fantastic and you can see them in the review.
We had the best time for a random visit and I’d highly recommend friends or groups go and have a great race. The facilities are basic but adequate and the karts are fantastic and pick up speed really quickly which was for an outdoor course!
So... start your engines whether you are experienced at karting or not because you’ll have a real good time!
Will definitely visit this place again soon!!

Came here with work and must say it was excellent. The staff were all brilliant, safety briefing was relevant and to the point, format was excellent (8 mins qualifying, 30 mins race) and half the price of similar places I’ve been. Karts were well maintained and the track itself is excellent. We did the cheaper national circuit and it was plenty good enough, probably a lot better for the more casual among us in reality. Thoroughly recommend these guys and this place.

Came back here for the second time and what can I say, it lived up to the fabulous time we had last time.
We had different members of staff this time and I didn’t think they could match the brilliant man we had had previously but they certaintly did.
The staff here are so friendly! So welcoming! True assets to the business.
Highly recommend!!

First of all, we seemed to have the hottest day of the year so far when karting, which the guys can't be blamed for, but it didn't help the experience. Second of all, I was RUBBISH at this - partly because I had to stop twice to be sick due to the heat but, again that's hardly the venue's fault.
After a safety briefing and fitting for overalls, helmet, gloves etc. we were lead to our karts. Embarassingly, I had to have the pedals adjusted as I couldn't reach them but after this little niggled we were given a couple of laps to get used to the track. In the briefing you are advised that you have to used the breaks and accelerator independantly, which makes perfect sense, but there's no indication as to where you put your brake foot when accelerating as just resting it on the brake causes hiccups when driving. Some of us spent much of the time with one knee hanging out of the kart to avoid this, which even when you're as bad at it as me, you get used to.
After some qualifier laps we got assigned pole positions and the grand prix started which in the baking sun in overalls, balaclava, helmet, next to a how engine proved way too much for me. The karts and fast and fun, once you get used to them but I would really recommend not going in the middle of the day in the middle of summer, it takes away a lot of the enjoyment.
At the end of the race, positions and print-outs are given out and the winners get medals, 1st place is given a bottle of something fizzy (not sure what as you don't get a bottle for 10th) - all in all, good fun, but soooooooooooooo hot!

Fabulous half day drifting, my partner had loads of fun. But there’s too much waiting around as there’s too many people booked on it

Otherwise known as ‘Wheels’ this place rocks! My lad had a brilliant birthday party here last week. Full hour of racing using 3 karts on the twisty intermediate track (which is great - note the smallest track might be a bit dull as circular). Karts were nippy enough and the boys were really buzzing. they were well briefed and looked after by the two staff who were very friendly. Also had access to a room where we could lay out picnic food afterwards which worked out great. £195 which is good value given numbers and enjoyment levels.

Is there weight/height restrictions on using the carts? Thanks.
GrandPrixKarting
Birmingham, UK
Minimum or maximum?
Min age is 8 years / min. height 4'0" (1.23m) for the cadet / club circuits.
Min age is 16 years / min height 4'9" (1.46m) for the national / international circuits.
There is no official max weight / height on the national / international circuits, it all depends on a number of factors, which basically come down to whether they are comfortable to get in and out of the kart and also their safety. In case of any doubt it would be best to arrange a viewing to see whether you could comfortably sit in a kart.
What's happens if you've booked and it rains?
