Over in Brimingham for my daughter's offer holder day at the University, I wanted to see Parasite on the big screen one evening. The Electric claims to be the oldest working cinema and the screening was at 6. She went shopping nearby; I meanwhile indulged in the beautiful, bohemian atmosphere of the place. Parasite deserved the Oscar, and the cinema is charming. There's a vegan cafe nearby and a BrewDog pub - what more does anyone need?!

I’ve been wanting to come for quite some time now and I’m glad I finally went. The seats are a little pricey but for a special occasion it’s lovely, the service and staff are great. Loved the table service in the cinema. We had a great time

We went here for my birthday - an excellent evening on the sofas at the back. Fab snacks and in chair service during the film. We will be back!

Let's start by saying I LOVE the Electric. It does have drawbacks, but it's just such a beautiful building and the staff are lovely. I love the themed cocktails for certain movies and the leather seats at the front with the footrests. If you sit on the sofas at the back you can text the bar and they will bring drinks during the movie. Only two small screens but it's always such a great experience. I often go early in the day and on one occasion was the only one in the screen during a pretty scary movie, which was a whole other experience. Did I mention drawbacks? Well yes, the toilets are tiny and in odd places but that's about it. I always recommend the Electric to friends and recently introduced one to it - she is now hooked! I love 3D and 4D Max, but sometimes it's nice to sit in a comfy seat and just be carried away by the movie. And on top of all that, the gorgeous art deco building and decor. Very close to New Street station and can be accessed from there easily.

Still sat in the cinema but I had to write and say how amazing this place is. Watched Emma in Screen 2 and now waiting for Parasite (also Screen 2). You can get food and a great variety of drinks. Sofa seats and minimal ads. What is not to like. The people here are also so kind and helpful. One of the best things I’ve done in Birmingham.
