Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice statue but just seems to little considering the impact his invention had had on the world. Interesting information

Never knew this guy came from Coventry, his very average statue stands in millenium square and a plaque describes his achievement (taken by US - what a pity)

Appropriately positioned outside of the Transport Museum, this statue commemorates Coventry’s own, former RAF air officer. He invented the turbojet engine.

Coventry finally has a fitting memorial to Sir Frank Whittle - Father of the modern jet engine.
Wonderful soaring arches with a statue of Sir Frank Whittle, standing beneath them.
Located just outside the Transport Museum, so easy to get to.
Wonderful, simply wonderful!

Not many people are aware that Frank Whittle developed the jet engine in Coventry, there has always been a small plaque to him on Hearsall Common where he did some of his experiments but his recognition for the development of one of the greatest inventions in modern times really deserved something better. Here beneath the Whittle Arches he takes pride of place. Nice tribute.

This is by the transport museium and is a good and so is the statue
I was very shocked with Coventry town which had beds and matresses in every doorway. I lived in Cov. for 45 years and was sad to see how run down it is
I am sorry to say I will not rush back A sign of the times ?

The sweeping arches really dominate in this area and Sir Frank salutes over all his domain. Love the stylised world map on the ground too.
Worth a quick visit if in the city.

Pretty samey as statues go but its significance is somewhat lost I suppose in the hustle and bustle of the site. A great man who deserves more recognition than he gets.
