People living locally as well as Tourists, Language Schools, coach parties and day trippers have been introduced to the intriguing insight into the Roman and Victorian through to anecdotal facts and changes throughout the town. During the walk they make reference to photo books showing the town 100 years ago that makes the tour a must for history lovers and for people intrigued by local knowledge.

This history tour was very informative and well presented by Martin, the tour guide. Walking through Arundel and finding out things that neither my friend and I knew about. Especially as my friend lives local to the area.
This was an inexpensive way to learn about the history and would recommend it anyone visiting the area.

Visiting Arundel for a few days from Holland with my family I booked the tour with Martin in advance. As I am the only one in my family that has a special interest I booked only for myself. On the day of the tour I turned out to be the only attendee. I was so pleased the tour was not cancelled. I had a lovely private one on one tour. It was such a pleasure to talk to Martin for 90 minutes. He has so much humor and is very friendly.
It was great to have such personal attention and all the information was truly appreciated. He knows details you will not find in books. I got a lovely thank you card with an old picture of Arundel of decades ago.
After the tour ended at the Arundel cathedral, Martin was so friendly to walk me to the Hansom house we were staying and even telling me more about the facade and the next door house. A perfect personal addition!
I highly recommend this tour and will be back for the 2 other tours! Thank you Martin.

We had an absolutely fantastic 90 mins with Martin he was super knowledgeable about Arundel and was excellent to listen to! We had a great time and would definitely recommend this tour. Thanks Martin for a great afternoon.

Had 3 different tours round arundel everyine fab , learned loads abt arundel the castle and the cathedral , also lots of interesting and funny titbits .I belong to a local wi and will def be booking another one this year

Martin & Karen have a wealth of knowledge about the history of Arundel. We learnt so much about Arundel Castle, the Dukes, Tradesmen & shops, the High Street, River Arun & lots more. We learnt far more than any book would tell us & Martin has several old photos documenting the changes within Arundel. Such an interesting & informative tour with just the 4 of us in total. Highly recommended & we will be booking the 2 other tour routes with Martin & Karen. We also obtained the very good book by Martin called Arundel A Postman's View with is full of lovely old photos & information about the history of Arundel straight from the heart of a local man. We were given a thank you card along with postcards & further information leaflets which was a lovely touch. Fabulous.

If you could have eavesdropped our company he’d glow with delight. We have shared numerous details of everything Martin told us again and again afterwards. Simply couldn’t stop: everything was so interesting. And the lady bookstore was very happy that we helped her out of her stock of his book as we bought every member of our group a copy.
We hope to return in the spring for a visit to the castle. And to see him again for another tour. I’ve found him here on TripAdvisor and hope this experience wil invite you readers to book a tour. It’s worth it!

Such a fun and fascinating walking tour. We felt we had travelled through Arundel for centuries. We looked up to notice the little details that have survived the many changes. We looked around at how the town developed and how the castle dominated its shape and make up. All done with humour and ease. Martin is a fantastic guide to a town he lioves. If you are in Arundel then this tour is 90mins of sheer information packed enjoyment.

Excellent way to spend 90 minutes in Arundel. Martin is a font of knowledge on history, architecture and local lore. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the town.

Hi Martin and Karen, we will visit with our senior mothers our aunt who lives in Arundel for years. So a party of five in total, all speaking or understanding the English language. Will there be a tour on November 17th or 18th? Still working on the program but would lover to book tickets for your tour.
