Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We thought the Kings was a terrific pub. Great bar staff. It’s a proper locals pub but really friendly to everyone. We ordered Chinese to be delivered from the takeaway along the road and were given plates and cutlery! It has a quirky back garden under a marquee with a sofa and arm chair amongst the garden furniture. Colourful tables on the cobbled hill. Trellis with Jasmine and fairy lights. 5 real ales. A real discovery! If you visit Arundel make sure you pop in as it was a great compliment to our trip. We’ll definitely make a point of coming back here.

We happened upon this pub after dinner but if we had not then we may have been tempted. You buy your drinks from the bar and they give you the take away menu from local restaurants. When the food is delivered the bar staff also give you the plates and cutlery; then take them away for washing up when you have finished! A novel way of having dinner with friends and family.

Lovely old C15th pub, basic, fairly untouched and great for it. 2 bars serving real ales and a walled garden out back. Cheerful, helpful bar staff. Only in Arundel for a half day but visited twice as it was so good.

Great pub with friendly staff and first class beer, which is always perfectly kept.
Not only allows you to bring in food from a take away of your choice but happily provides crockery and cutlery which they will then wash up.
Seems too good to be true but been here several times, even though it’s 77 miles from home, and every time it is true.

My apologies to the landlord & landlady for the delay in posting this review.
My wife & I were booked into the Norfolk Arms for a weekend at the end of March. Nothing wrong there but felt we needed to explore the town a little just to say we had 'done it'. We went to the Red Lion opposite the Norfolk on our first night & had a good night but felt we needed to do something different on night two. That's where the Kings Arms comes in.
As we approached we could tell it was a real 'locals' pub & at first wondered whether it would be for us, but undaunted we went in & our thoughts were confirmed. It was a lively pub with a jukebox playing loudly & real people playing 'Killer' on the dart board. We ordered our drinks & sat down at one of the tables. After a few minutes a lady came over to us & said 'There's a lounge bar over there if you'd like something more quiet'. I guess my age (53) must have been showing, but I insisted the atmosphere was great & that we were in a proper pub.
As the evening progressed, my wife & I got chatting to this lady (as you do) who as it turned out was the landlady. She introduced us to her husband (the landlord) & we continued chatting as if we'd known each other for years, they even bought us drinks. That's how friendly & welcoming this pub is. Also they don't 'do' food but will happily allow you to take in your own from the local takeaway & will even provide plates if needed, I've never come across a pub that does that! So people, when in Arundel take a walk in the town, find Tarrant Street (its pretty central) & have yourselves a great night in the Kings Arms. No offence to the other pubs in the town, but we found this to be the best.

Excellent beers (Fullers, so includes Pride), excellent cappuccino (tastes great - and served in a tall glass) and a friendly welcome.
Regulars are also fun/ chatty/ down to earth.
Would definitely recommend.

Charlie and his team are always very welcoming and this is a true British pub - non of this gastro rubbish - excellent beer, darts and a good ambience....I always find it hard to have just the one, so I tend not too...

What a brilliant little pub. Five ales on including local ones. Little bottle of each in front of the pump so you see what they look like. You can order a takeaway to be delivered and the pub will do the crockery and cutlery! Chinese is a few doors down too. Super service and one screen if you want to watch sport. Just down the hill from the cathedral and you really must go....and the toilets smell really nice!

Old traditional Pub. Very friendly and good selection of Real Ale & Lagers. Bring your own food and they supply the cutlery. What more could you ask for. Nice seating area outside, warm and cosy in the winter. What more could you ask for?
Plenty of activity and entertainment here when it is Arundel Festival week.
All in all you could not ask have a better pub.
