I hadn't visited for a few years and was a bit disappointed to see the gallery and garden not looking as crisp as I remember. Now there's a coffee station and chairs in the lobby, the ponds are dry and the permanent collection seems to...More

Lovely gallery in a beautiful old building, slightly tucked away but in the town centre. Good variety of exhibitions on when we visited photography and Virginia Woolf plus permanent collection The café in the courtyard is well worth a visit, as is the shop.

Took my two sons, 9 & 13, we were able to discuss different styles/preferences, and explore it all without overload. Cafe a bonus afterwards too.

There is always a good standard of paintings and sculptures at Palany House Gallery. The is often a guest artist or special display on. Just a few minutes away from the bustle of South Street. Oh, and did I mention the rather lovely cafe/restaurant...?
