Always loved this theatre and enjoyed the show Rough Crossing. Though the main actor John Partridge I have been an avid fan of since I saw him in Cats when I was 6, I am now looking at 29 so I may be a bit...More

We saw Messiah before Christmas and thought that was terrible and as Griff Rhys Jones was originally billed to be starring in Rough Crossing we thought we would give it a second try. However he did not star and the cast was absolutely awful. The...More

What a wonderful theatre. We sat on row N 18-20 and had the most fantastic view, it was dead centre and second row past the middle. I think every seat must have a superb view. The theatre is tiered like an amphitheater and I think...More

A Stinker. Looks as though CFT had a week to fill & the audience should be given their money back, Did the (well known) Director even turn up?

I wish they had opened the bilge tanks and let this go. Awful...worse than an am dram offering in a village hall. Two hours of my life wasted.

We have been going to this theatre for a number of years now and have seen numerous productions, some excellent and some not so good , but we have never left halfway through a production until this one. Billed as one of Tom Stoppard's 'most...More

This production was hugely disappointing. The 4 main actors were poor and whilst witty here and there it was not hysterical - only 4 half hearted chuckles from the audience. The song and dance routine before the interval was embarrassing. We've attended numerous productions over...More

Lovely intermit theater, lost of atmosphere off the stage, cant say the same about Trial by Laughter on stage though. We stuck it out to the end (many didn't) and it didn't get any funnier. The theater itself is well designed, quick access in and...More

Good value for what was an excellently presented 3 course PRE THEATRE dinner. Ham hock & chicken terrine to start was very tasty, followed by open lasagne which was light and very enjoyable, had room for a delicious polenta cake for dessert. Staff are very...More

Ian Hislop's Trial By Laughter, was a first part, one hour Trial. I have no idea if the laughter occurred in the second part as we left, with quite a few others, at the interval, even though Mr. Hislop was giving a post show chat.

This varies with the production when scenery projects from one side on occasions. With some productions, sider seats furthest from the centre are not on sale, if this is considered to be a problem. 8+ seats in from the end... More

HI yes, there is a stage door, but as to meeting cast members I am unsure. We have seen a few as they leave or meet family and friends in the foyer. Sorry not a great deal of help. Have fun when you visit.

There are lifts after a recent refurbishment. Not easy to find so ask staff who are very helpful.
