I always think the sign of a well designed garden is one that is interesting in the winter when there is little colour about. This garden is a perfect example of this. Lovely and peaceful with some gorgeous plants. Worth a visit and free entry!

If you're busy shopping in Chichester and need a break the Gardens are a great escape. Even on a coolish, wintery day with all the leaves coming off the trees it was beautiful and peaceful.

Visited on a crisp Wednesday morning though going into the winter and being cleared these gardens with the old city wall were stunning. Must be an awesome place in spring and summer with the plants in bloom. A place to see in every season with...More

I have been visiting Chichester for years, and never knew the gardens were here. They are so well planted and maintained. I will return.

It's always lovely to have a walk around the gardens - especially on a sunny autumn afternoon! Not many people about, and son we had the place to ourselves. Gorgeous views of the Cathedral too.

We found this one day when we had to wait for a time in Chichester. They are beautiful gardens. We went on a lovely sunny day and there were quite a few local people sitting on the benches or on the grass having their lunch....More

The garden is big. It's a park. Beautiful & calming, hidden behind the Chichester Cathedral. Good for walk. Or sit down on benches, enjoying the garden doing nothing or with a book.

Yes, go right to the end as though you're going into the Bishop's palace and there is an entrance on the left. It's also possible to enter via Avenue des Chartres, near the pedestrian crossing.
