Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a really lovely afternoon on the festive boat trip. Really relaxing, saw some lovely wildlife. Boat was decorated and Xmas music was playing. We had a coffee and cake included + mulled wine. Excellent for the price. Would definitely recommend

Nice trip down canal, BUT Fish & Chips were not a satisfactory sized portion, looked nothing like advertised photo on website !! Would not recommend as expensive for what you get…

Terrible sandwiches! Thus is a great volunteer run enterprise and the sandwiches are made by a local supplier but they are miserly, cheap bread, dry and expensive.

The canal boat trip was good. However the cream tea afterwards left a lot to be desired. Apparently the scones were bought earlier that day from Waitrose but the cafe staff then PUT THEM IN THE FRIDGE! So at 3.00 pm when we returned from our trip and looking forward to a nice cream tea - we had almost frozen scones that we could not cut in half and very cold jam. Yes, cream needs to be kept in a fridge but NOT the scones or jam!!!
I would never recommend their cream tea and at £5.50 it’s pricey.
Cafe staff gave either s small refund or offered cake instead. Don’t go there!!

We arrived 10 minutes before our hire time began. however, we were still sitting waiting half an hour later. They had 'forgotten' that we were there. The actual trip made up for it, as we saw some lovely water birds. On our return, we were offered complimentary cold drinks, but we declined.

Brilliant trip along the Chichester ship canal.
At £8.00 each it was great value for money.
The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly.
We are so lucky to have people to give up their free time to ensure that we can experience trips like this.
The trip lasted 75 mins for a two mile journey along the canal and back.
The barge was comfortable and spacious with room at the rear to get a better view in the open.

I would thoroughly recommend this trip.
Thank you to the brilliant volunteers who made it possible.

We did the canal tour which was really lovely, the 2 gentlemen that took us out were very informative and clearly passionate about the canal, we saw lots of wildlife including a pair of swans with 9 cygnets, on our return we had lunch in the canal cafe, again this was lovely with a huge range of homemade cakes and so reasonably priced. We would definitely go back

Fantastic trip, tasty fish & chips, and brilliant live singing performance to accompany it all! Highly recommend taking advantage of the canal boat trips to anyone visiting the area, or even locals!
