I have been walking past this place for 15 years and today I found myself with 40 mins to spare so dived in.
No entrance fee but they do expect a donation so I contributed £5 per head and was immediately approached by some pleasant “ushers” who gave me a guide and started to describe interesting factoids.

My first comment is you need at least 90 mins to do this place justice. The history is vast and the stained glass windows are breath taking. In many ways this resembles Canterbury cathedral and even has some Roman structures,

I will return soon after doing more research on the history so that the famous people listed are more meaningful to me.

Random visit on our look around Chichester. My main interest in buildings like this is capturing a few nice photographs of the architecture and features and this cathedral doesn’t disappoint. We were lucky to have a bright day so the outside views were stunning and the stained glass windows were amazing from the inside and the interior also fairly well lit. We donated a few pounds to help the building preservation. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Interesting visit today but the many QR codes and brief leaflet isn’t enough information so I donated to tag into a tour, which they began to make the visit worthwhile, putting things into context. I don’t feel you get the most from a visit without a “human person” tour. Don’t miss the art (Graham Sutherland, Marc Chagall) and treat yourself to a tea towel in the shop and give them a bit of trade. The on duty Dean praying on the hour enhanced this visit for me and I greatly appreciated it. If that’s not your thing you can ignore it, we should remember however this is a cathedral, a building where prayer is, and has been, important.
Skip the Cloisters cafe. Do go into the Bishops Palace gardens - a hidden gem!

An absolutely beautiful building you could feel the history as soon as you entered, very informative experience however I couldn't escape the feeling I was going to burst into flames the closer to the alter I got. (Damn my agnostic heathen views)

The gardens were stunning, shame about how the flowers tasted... hopefully I didn't eat the poison berries. Definitely worth a visit for anyone who has never seen it before. Praise be to God almighty... or something along those lines.

A beautiful cathedral, the size is stunning, lots of interesting points, including the Marc Chagall window. The guides there were so friendly and informative, they really enhanced our visit, many thanks! No extortionate entry fee, unlike a lot of cathedrals, but donations accepted, which we feel is more appropriate in a place of worship. If you’re visiting Chichester, the cathedral is a must see.

It’s known as the Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity and is a stunning example of mixture Norman and Gothic architecture. It was founded as a cathedral in 1075. The spire of Chichester Cathedral is the third tallest in England.
It has been central part of Chichester for more than 900 years. It’s quite interesting having two architectural features that are unique in England's medieval cathedrals, a free standing medieval bell tower and double aisles.
Stain glass windows are the best part, amazing art work and so vibrant colours. Nice garden at the back. Its entry free but if you like, can donation. Volunteers are great and helpful. Love historical & architectural places and cathedrals are the best to visit for 2 in 1 history and architecture. Worth to visit if you are in town.

I visited to light a candle on Remembrance Sunday to be confronted by a 7 meter replica of MARS hanging from the ceiling. It was certainly interesting and eye catching. Coffee in the Cloisters Cafe is always lovely. It's a shame that Chichester Council now charge full parking prices on Sundays. It makes it expensive visit to the Cathedral where entry is by donation.

We visited Chichester Cathedral on 11th March 25 and were lucky to be there at the right time to join a tour. The guided tour was led by Susanna. Susanna was a relaxed and informative guide, it was evident from her introduction that she wished those on the tour to get the most from it. She offered opportunities for those present to say if they were previously informed about any particular aspect and she could amend her guidance as they were so many things to talk about that she could make her tour fit the wishes of the group. We learned so much about the rich history of the Cathedral, along with the links to other parts of the country. Susanna was fun, engaging and well informed, she made our visit to the Cathedral memorable. Thank you very much.

Beautifully maintained, almost pristine white in some place, which gives this very impressive building a slightly clean, and untouched atmosphere, with a everpresent calmness around. Beautifully looked after the cathedral is,of course, the focal point of the city. Like almost every UK cathedral, Chichester is a charming mixture of architechural styles.
Lovely relaxed afternoon.

First and foremost, make sure you speak to Alan (guide). Lovely chap with lots of knowledge and passion for the cathedral.
We visited while the Mars exhibition was on and it was certainly eye catching. There is also a good guide to take you around the cathedral and explain some of the more unique features such as the panelled tapestry and various chapels.
