- MeganPC101Camberley, United Kingdom79 contributionsA great bit of sightseeingGreat for a short trip if you're staying in Chichester. We decided to have a little look around. The architecture and art inside is impressive. When we entered the staff were very welcoming and handed us a map. We were particularly interested in the dates and history.Visited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 December 2022

Music recital mornings were free when we visited. founded as a cathedral in 1075 History comes alive. A must see.Visited February 2023Written 21 February 2023
- JackieWare, United Kingdom2 contributionsThe Cloister CafeWe visited the Cloisters Cafe and were delighted to see the cake table full of delicious homemade cakes and pastries and the coffee, a local coffee roaster was great too! We sat and enjoyed our stay in the delightful sunny garden. We will definitely pay another visit!Visited May 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 2 May 2023
- Lowescottage11 contributionsExpensive but goodCloisters Cafe. Excellent BUT fully priced. Little tubs of ice cream , the ones which are usually £2.50. Nearly double price. Same for drinks. They don't believe in repeat custom but the one off tourist pound ( or many pounds)Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 May 2023
- HAH20072015Herefordshire, United Kingdom25 contributionsBeautiful cathedralWhat a beautiful cathedral and one of the earliest. Interesting modern but sympathetic additions, tapestries, font, pulpits etc. well worth a visit and conducted tour. Bishops gardens also lovely and peaceful. Can then walk the city walls. Great day out.Visited June 2023Travelled soloWritten 2 June 2023
- Lin82 contributionsNice locationHad afternoon coffee and cake with student granddaughter. Rather grumpy staff, no gluten free options other than an expensive pack of two shortbread biscuits. Regular coffee is a very small cup. Small portion of cake. Pleasant surroundings, clean toilets, pretty garden. Expensive, you pay for the location.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 29 July 2023
- sunflower189West Sussex, United Kingdom220 contributionsFind time to visitWe visited the cathedral during a day trip to Chichester. Entry, unlike some cathedrals, was free although visitors are invited to make a contribution. The architecture of the building is incredible. There is also an exhibition until the end of August called 'Resilience in Clay' with work by Kate Viner, which is very thought provoking. This in itself is worth seeing.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 August 2023
- WelshwaspSouth Wales, United Kingdom534 contributionsFree and well worth a visit but don't forget its religious purposeFor many people its the main reason for visiting the city but please remember it is a place of worship. To underline this short prayers are said through the day which you may join in/ listen to. It is easier enough to move around the Cathedral no matter your needs with its various chapels and an interesting Treasury. Descriptive leaflets are available if you do not wish to join a tour. The building itself is obvious in the centre of the town although someway from the main transport hubs and parking areas.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 October 2023

One of all the classic English breakfast items including choice of how your egg is cooked. Roasted cherry tomatoes on the vine, a sautéed field mushroom, lovely herby sausage and good bacon. This is not a cathedral I know and I came away very impressed. It is particularly strong on art related content. As well as temporary exhibitions there are a Chagall stained glass window, the inspiration for Philip Larkins "Arundel Tomb" - moved from elsewhere, a fragment of roman mosaic floor and Michael Clarks "Five wounds of Christ" - one of the smallest art installations you are likely to come across but worth seeking out - it's a bit of a treasure trail. When we went the cathedral was a hive of activity which was nice to see.

Nice Cathedral under going various works which did not detract from the building. A really lovely art installation (Peace Doves) is currently on until the 12 November 2023. Well worth the visit just for that. Beautiful font. Interesting history. The exterior has been cleaned and looks lovely. No admission fee but donations very welcome. The Cloisters houses a very nice, busy cafe with toilets. There is a small shop in the cathedral.
