Another gallery/museum to tick off my visit list! Set in lovely parkland, the architecture is stunning, Civic pride at it's best! There are a number of galleries housing an intriguing collection of art works. The print gallery is interesting with banks of plan chests surrounded by framed prints of a good selection of familiar and not so familiar artists and... More

We had a visit as part of an Arts Award trip. Loads to see even with a few galleries in change over. Plenty of additional activity laud out for kids to help with interpretation and to keep their interest. Met with a great member of staff called Simon who talked about his job and told us some exciting facts about... More

loads of paintings if that's your bag but not really for me--although the architecture and ground are great and it sits in the middle of a massive park.

This year we opted for the so-called staycation and it has taken me a while to catch up and write this review. I wanted to do so because Cartwright Hall is a rare thing and well done and deserves to be better known. It describes itself as " consist(ing) mainly of 19th and 20th century British art, with strong collections... More

I have been past this place many times as an adult and had fond memories of childhood picnics here with my grandparents and finally managed a return visit and was pleasantly surprised. The art exhibition was great but what made the visit was the live music which I think was an Argentinian duo, guitar and violin player and the acoustics... More

Right in the middle of Lister park. Lovely art gallery, free entry. Building and gardens are both worth a look. Think its closed on a Monday.

My family and friends, we were going to Lister park and we were lucky, that the Cartwright Hall was opened. The fact that we did not find the pram access, was a bit sad, but we are young and still went up and in :) There was an exhibition in the first room, it was called "CELEBRATING GANESHA". Also a...
