Brilliant for all ages
Aug 2020 • Family
I’ve been here many times in the past and recently decided to bring my stepchildren out for a few hours to play with their own cricket set.
It was extremely busy here so there wasn’t much chance of social distancing but the park is so beautiful and well looked after that I’m not surprised it’s so popular.
There’s plenty of grassland for the kids to play on, basketball net, tennis courts, football nets, aviary, walkways etc and it’s a lovely place to walk your dog.
Will definitely return here again soon to try and take advantage of the wonderful weather!

Did not feel safe not following covid hygiene guidelines
Jul 2020 • Family
Went to this cafe today good coffee but had a real problem with covid safeguarding.

Not one member was wearing a mask or gloves
Not asked for contact tracing details
Staff crowded into kitchen area, preparing food - no masks
Member of staff coming out and shouting people when their order was ready - no mask
Male member of staff served ice cream cone, with unprotected hands and then went to help another member of staff with the till.
Not once did we see any member of staff use hand sanitizer

It is only 2 weeks since cafes were allowed to open after covid, everywhere else we have been are following covid recommendations, Springhead park cafe seem to think they don’t have to - what are these people thinking. Will not return

Eat your lunch here
Mar 2020 • Family
Rothwell park is a pretty place just off the roundabout into Oulton. Lots of free parking and tennis courts, skate park, playground and a cafe as well as lovely little stream side walks. We often buy lunch in the town and eat it in the park.

Beautiful green oasis on a very hot day.
Jul 2019 • Couples
WE decided to spend the day in Rothwell and strolled into town keen for a look around.
After visiting the shops we saw a park indicated on a map and walked down to it. What a pleasant surprise it was.
Initially there is a very good little cafe -- where we had our lunch -- toilets, some tennis courts and other facilities such as bowls and a children's play area.
But if you walk on down the side a path leads you out on to a huge green area flanked by mature trees.
We walked down to where a stream flowed under a little bridge and, turning right, followed the course of the stream for some distance.
Everywhere were people out walking, many of them with children or dogs, and the whole scene was very pleasant.
Eventually we turned around and this time walked back to the cafe along the other side of the park which was in the shade, a useful thing on an extremely hot day.
We never expected to find such a nice park in a little place like Rothwell and were very pleasantly surprised. It is now firmly on our visiting list of things to do the next time we are back in the area. Don't miss a chance to visit it.

A lovely new discovery
Jul 2019 • Family
Came here for the first time yesterday on our way to the gala with my friend's daughter. The lady on the counter was very helpful and friendly however the lady who served the food or rather throws it on the table without even a word maybe she needs some training on customer relations. Having said that the food we had was fresh and hot and reasonably priced.

Afternoon tea
Apr 2019 • Friends
Four of us went for afternoon tea, very reasonably priced and a great selection of sandwiches and cakes, more than enough to eat, so much so we took some home, tea and coffee was plentiful and we were offered refills. Only downside was that it was school holidays and as we walked in the noise level was horrendous, but we were shown into a side room that was much quieter which was much appreciated. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, would definitely go again. Prosecco is also available at extra cost.

Great place to visit
Jul 2018 • Family
We were always taken to this park by my parents as kids, i know take my daughter often. The grounds are very well kept there are enough benches and bins for picnics. There are 3 different park areas for different aged children so lots to do. There is also a gorgeous stream and flower garden to walk through. There is a small bird garden that is lovely to visit and sit to watch the birds on the benches.

The park is the perfect place for everyone to visit and make memories.
