Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a brilliant tour led by our guide Lynda who was super knowledgable about the facts of Leeds. Great food, great company and great idea for a day out in Leeds.
I bought lots of foodie presents and could have spent much longer at each venue.
Thank you

Really enjoyable afternoon touring Leeds with Linda despite the rain! Introduced us to some fantastic places to grab a bite that we’ve never considered before.

What a fab way to spend an afternoon........we ate at some fantastic places that we would never have thought to try (or even knew were there)! Our tour guide, Lynda was entertaining and full of fun facts about the venues, the food and Leeds. We took some friends as a birthday present, they liked it so much they want to go again...hope that they take us!

Thank you for your lovely review! I can't get enough of Lynda's fun facts, so I'm happy to hear you enjoyed them too. Let's hope your friends return and take you with them... let us know if you want to join again and we can mix the venues up a bit! Thanks again, Ellen

Such a good day. Nice group of people to do it with. The aim was for us to experience some different food outlets to make our regular trips into Leeds a little more interesting as we visit the same places all the time. We were not disappointed with the choice of venues. The host was great, very knowledgeable. Would recommend.

Thanks for your review, and great to hear that you enjoyed the choice of venues. The aim is absolutely to give you some more options when you come into Leeds... we are all guilty of going to the same places all the time! Lovely to hear that Lynda was a great guide too :) Thanks Ellen

The food wasn’t great and they were small portions. One stop you don’t get any food you just try chilli sauce, one place the food wasn’t cooked properly, one place the food was great, the gelato stop is a waste of time -no choice of flavours and it wasn’t good and the other two places were substandard. The tour guide was nice but didn’t tell us anything we didn’t already know (we live in Leeds).
All in all for the price, I wouldn’t go anywhere near it. Even at half the price, I wouldn’t bother. The total of the food you get is less than £25 and that’s being generous. You pay £50 to walk around with someone, who knows a little about some places in Leeds.

Hi Katy, Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your food tour. I appreciate you letting me know, as feedback is always valuable. I am surprised by your review, as I've had very positive feedback from everyone else on your tour that week, including positive comments on portion size and food quality. Having said that, I agree & apologise about the gelato stop that week. They usually have 8 delicious flavours on (they don't do any more than this due to making everything fresh daily), however there were only 3 or 4 available flavours at this time. This was due to a staffing issue, and I promise was a one off. I would be interested to know which stop you thought the food wasn't cooked properly. With regards to the pricing, as with all food tours the ticket price is higher than the cost of the food. This is because it needs to cover food costs, tour guide salary and business overheads, as well as some profit. Having done a lot of food tours as research, the amount of food, portion sizes, and cost of food vs ticket price has been similar to this one. My apologies again that you didn't enjoy your food tour, and I hope this response has been adequate. Thanks, Ellen

What a truly brilliant afternoon on Leeds Food Tours trip round Leeds. We went to 6 different places, some of which we’ve walked past the door of and never even noticed. If you are looking for a gift for “foodies”, this is a must

A great way to spend a fun afternoon at some
hidden eateries in Leeds. Lynda, our guide, was full of interesting information about Leeds and the restaurants we visited and was great fun too! Lynda really ensured we all
had a memorable time. A very good varied selection of the types of food Leeds has to offer and especially enjoyed the chilli shop.
Would highly recommend this tour.

Really enjoyed the food tour - we tried lots of delicious and varied food and as a vegan I was well looked after in every place we stopped.

My highlight would have to be the Chilli Shop - partly because Frank who gave the tour was so entertaining and knowledgable and clearly loves all things chilli and partly because I learnt a lot about chilli and how actually maybe chilli ( surprise to me) is my thing.

We also visited the Cheesey Living Company - where ( as i am vegan) I was given a delicious cashew based pesto bruschetta. Yum! Cheese plates looked great for those that indulge.

It's a fun activity to do together as a team - I had fun, ate delicious food and got to know my colleagues better. Highly recommend with friends or colleagues.

We had a wonderful day exploring Leeds and visiting new eateries. The visit to The Chilli Shop was a real treat. Our guide, Lynda kept us on track but we didn’t feel rushed at each of the stops. My favourite was Manjit’s Kitchen, delicious samosa chatt and I’ll definitely make a return visit there.
