We loved Armley Mills. A traditional spinning and weaving mill, it is run by extremely knowledgeable volunteers who can tell you all sorts about the museum. They do demonstrations of spinning which really astonished me because half the room seemed to move when the large...More

We visited this textile muserum 25 years ago and can attest it is still as captivating as it was then or even more so. Do take a docent tour and read the posters on the walls about the people who worked there.

A very interesting museum with plenty to see. Read & learned a lot about life working & the conditions at the mills. Saw a lot of the machinery. Plenty of hands on activity too

I was really impressed. It is a great place to learn about Leeds' industrial heritage. The staff are welcoming and informative. Not too expensive either. Well worth a visit.

Take the 30 minute stoll along the canal from the city centre to get a feel for this interesting old mill, chock-full of industrial heritage. The talks and demos of machinery are wonderful, including a carding mill and steam engine that would have provided power...More
