I went to take my mother some flowers on Mothers Day to find the Brass Plates on the front had been stolen and the vase was no longer there. Unfortunately I could not find my mothers grave and there was no one to ask. So ended up feeling sad and took her flowers home with me. A very beautiful place,... More

This maybe a nice place but I cannot see why ppl rate as an attraction. I am here for second time. This time to say goodbye to mother in law, last time to say goodbye to my husband. To my mind an attraction is somewhere good to visit. This is not. It is a place of sadness.

An interesting place to see a vast range of headstones and monuments. Some very grand stonework to see.

Both my parents are buried here. So I visit. A large cemetery with modern and ancient sections. The old sections have very varied graves with the trees and shrubs make this a great haunted looking cemetery. If you can walk thru this cemetery without fear you can visit any cemetery.

....because, how do you rate a cemetary? We don't want to go but do to show our last respects. Last there about October as one of our friends was tragically killed. So many there that we all couldn't fit into the tiny chapel and the service was on monitors which felt unpersonal. It does give the impression of 'conveyor belt'.... More

Not really a place to visit as it's a cemetery, but it does have some beautiful grounds, its a historical place with a lovely chapel, but it is a cemetery and a grave yard so not a place to go for a day out!

How do you review a cemetery? I saw it and thought - well why not! I have three family members buried here now. All of the services were handled extremely well and without any problems. If a cemetery could ever be recommended - I guess I would recommend this.

For those interested in Genealogy, the office at Lawnswood was a very useful place to visit. If one could not find a record of burial or cremation at this cemetery then records were accessible for all other cemeteries/crematoria. Since the closure of the office, staff and records being relocated at Farnley, there is now no way we are able to... More

We recently came here to a family bereavement, well laid out and tidy, but this is not "An Attraction" unless you have a macarbe view on things. It should be visited only to pay respect to departed loved ones.
